Birmingham’s 2-0 victory at Blackpool this evening means they have broken the record for the highest number of points in an EFL season.
With one game to go, they have reached 108 points, which tops Reading’s previous record of 106 achieved in 2005/06.
Interesting to note that the two sides automatically promoted from League One this season weren’t in the division last season.
At least we don't have to play them next season!

Five of their mainstays were members of the team that got relegated from the Championship last season, while their keeper is none other than Ryan Allsop. Wrexham had spent something like £5m and were the second biggest spenders.

Although it's not the kind of information that will be easily available, it would be interesting to know how much clubs like Cardiff and Plymouth will have spent on their squads in terms of transfer fees (and signing-on fees, wages, etc) by the time next season starts.Quote:

The fees we paid for those players were not especially large by Championship standards, but will many (if any) other League One clubs have paid such fees for their players?
