Peter Ridsdale on Championship finances and club ownership
Yes, yes, I know he's not the most popular of figures in Cardiff City's history, but Peter Ridsdale certainly knows his football, especially at Championship level.
During the first 20 minutes or so of the video in the link below, Ridsdale talks mainly about football finances and club ownership. Of course, the discussion naturally focusses on his current club Preston North End, but I thought a lot of the wider points and some of the facts and figures may also be of interest to City fans, particularly in light of our current ownership situation.

Ah, Peter Ridsdale. The dark prince of football death.

Fear not, I'm fully aware of the need many football fans have for pantomime villains and Ridsdale fits the bill perfectly.
Fascinating character though, and he really knows his football, as evidenced by some of the fine players he brought to Cardiff City during his time here.

And isn’t he the one who got the stadium built?

It certainly wouldn't have been built without him as the council had run out of patience with Sam Hammam.

I find it both intriguing and amusing, how some elements of the City fanbase continue to long after the latter day chaos and near ruin of the Sam Hamman days, yet vilify Risdale who, even when looking at without rose tinted glasses, through his diligent work with Cardiff council made a lasting positive impact on the club, through the building of the stadium.

I think his email address was floating around here years ago and I emailed him something chirpy about the season ticket/player sales stuff. He told me to piss off if I remember rightly but it was nice to get a reply

Not bad.
If you emailed any of our current lot you would get an out of office from last Christmas.

I emailed him just before he left the club. I can’t remember what it was about now, but I do remember he replied quickly and politely. Maybe I shouldn’t have been impressed by that - but I was.
