Lovely free kick puts Charlton ahead, but the wall and/or keeper looks to be positioned poorly.

Dreadful by the goalkeeper
It wasn’t a particularly good strike

Really poor game, poor goal to concede.

What was the 'keeper thinking? An easily avoided mistake.

Bar a couple of long range efforts, they haven't really looked like scoring though. I hope Charlton win. I don't want Nathan Jones at City.

I haven’t watched a lot of Wrexham but they managed to finish 2nd and I’m not sure how many of their players would have got in our squad last season.

That was an awful game. It made the Championship look glorious.
One benefit of City being relegated to League One is that we don’t have to worry about missing any big games while booking holidays, gig tickets, etc, because there aren’t any.

Yep, Charlton would have beaten us, they won 1-0 in dull style by seeing out the game with a narrow lead just like we used to through much of the last ten years, but we can’t do it any more and, as we don’t fancy a physical challenge these days either, we haven’t got much going for us if the game is a tight one.

I would have had Sam Smith any day of the week, a cracking buy at 3 mill
Arthur the GK from Arsenal rather than horvath
I hate to say McClean aswell, most prob Fletch and Lee
thats 5, not sure of many more

What I’ve seen of Lee this season he’s looked very dissapointing. I don’t think many would have been pleased if we signed Fletcher either or McClean, I’m not sure either are better than what we have.
The keeper maybe.

Re: FT: Leyton Orient 0 - 1 Charlton. League 1 play off final
Well they conceded 34 all season so I suspect the defenders and defensive midfielders are better than ours seeing as we conceded that by game 21

Potentially but we haven’t set up very well and they played at a lower level. There is one defender I thought looked decent tho.
Watching Charlton today tho, there CB threw themselves at every ball in the box, our defenders are so static in comparison.

Wonderful.
How many will we have scored? How many points, this is a good insite considering we have a full transfer window and a manager to appoint.

Do you therefore believe Charlton are a better side than the likes of Blackburn, Sheffield Wednesday, QPR, Preston, Oxford and West Brom? I ask because none of those six sides managed to beat us during the last two months of the season despite the fact that we were undeniably poor.

Four of those sides did beat us, I still can’t work out how we got a point at Hillsborough and West Brom were woefully out of form when we played them in our final home game. I’m not saying Charlton are better than any of those six teams, what I am saying is that they have momentum, a good defensive record and know how to win games 1-0 - that would be enough to beat at least some of those six sides at least once over the course of a season (we managed to do it once in twelve games) I’m sure and would definitely be enough to see off the 24/25 City team.
