Kpakio makes the squad

Maybe this will help bring an end to the comments about City only having one right back? Congratulations to Ronan, perhaps he might get some game time against Liechtenstein.
No place for Rubin Colwill again.
Big mistake not picking Biancheri, who has accepted the trading squad offer from Canada.
6 past and present Cardiff players in the squad
I think it's interesting that Craig Bellamy prefers Ollie Cooper to Rubin Colwill in midfield.
Their Championship stats last season:
Rubin Colwill - 24 (+19) appearances, 1 goal
Ollie Cooper - 10 (+18) appearances, 1 goal
Whichever way you look at it, it's clear that the Wales manager doesn't rate Colwill (at present anyway). I wonder if Bellamy will get the sort of criticism any of us on here get if we dare to suggest Colwill is ineffective?
Can we please not turn this into yet another thread about the pros and cons of Rubin Colwill?
As for Biancheri, he's eligible for three countries so who are we to say which one he should pick. I think he's doing the right thing exploring those options before committing to a decision he'll have to stick with for the rest of his career.
Congratulations to Kpakio, too. Could be a big season coming up for him.
Good for him. Personally I've never felt like I'd want to represent anyone but Wales, but I've never been good enough to have that opportunity!
I think he'll end up representing Wales, he's from here, played through our youth groups and it looks like a lot of his mates from those teams will be forming a big chunk of our squads in the next few years (Kpakio, Lawlor, Crew etc), but if he doesn't then its not the end of the world
pretty much the same type of vibe reading the Canadian web site

haven't played a senior competitive game at international level yet so gaining good experience
Canada have the upcoming Gold Cup which count as competitive internationals and most of their European players won't be attending, so great chance for him to get a competitive cap if he so chooses. Although somebody on another thread informed me the rules have changed slightly there and you now aren't tied with a single competitive cap any more.
It seems a little odd that we'd include Kpakio in a squad but not the highly rated Bianchieri if that's the case, not taking anything away from Ronan. But such is life, we've probably obsessed over far too many highly rated youngsters who have been nothing at 21 like they were supposed to be at 16, both for City and Wales.
The report that Mozzer linked says: "While Biancheri won’t be playing for Canada in the coming weeks..."

He's certainly got far more of a path to playing time for Wales than Canada reading that article, so that's a positive. Jonathan David is a real elite talent and will be moving to a big team this summer. Not sure the same is true for Mark Harris.
