I once saw U2 for a quid. There were maybe 500 there.

I’ve never been switched on enough to the early thing.
Maybe a couple of years when I lived in Camden 1996 and saw bands like Pavement and Wico at ULU etc..
I did see The White Stripes at a tiny venue in Bristol just before they went big, to be fair.
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
Don’t ever recall them playing the Ice Rink. They played the CIA in March 96. The night I went Liam cut the gig short after about half an hour as he was supposedly unwell. Then he was in the window in Jurys and the fans were singing back and forth to him. I wasn’t. I was tamping having just paid treble face value for a ticket off a scouser outside.
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
I saw them at the Top Rank in spring 94. Think it was around the same time they played at TJs, but doesn't seem as well documented as their Newport gig. I tried to get a ticket for this weekend but aren't too bothered that I didn't get one.

If a fight doesn't break out before the first song.

Try using the website 'Twickets'. You should be able to pick up a ticket at cut-price as the afternoon goes on.

But news wise it’s pretty big and I think that they are more important now than they were then.
A few Mates watched them in TJ’s, Newport around 95. I saw them in Cardiff at the Ice Rink around March 1996.
Anyone there at that gig, anyone see them elsewhere in their early day and anybody going tomorrow?
I saw them at Maine Road in 96. Supported by Ocean Colour Scene and the Manics. Cast were supposed to be there as well but one of them had broken his arm.
I remember trying to get tickets to see them at Gloucester Leisure Centre too.
Not interested in seeing them now though.
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
I saw them on the tele and listened to them on the wireless, didn’t cost me anything extra
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
Never been a massive fan but have seen them a number of times as I've gone for the night/day out.
Astoria was the first gig where they encountered some not so good natured stick from some.
I definitely seen them in the CIA but can't remember what year?
Earls Court was probably the best I've seen them play and I also saw them at Maine Road with the Manics.
Thought they'd hit their peak in 96 to be honest.
Seen them after 96 with the now wife as she was a big fan but on those occasions they were like a parody of themselves.
I'm there tonight after ranting I wouldn't bother, with wifey and 12 year old who fuucking adores them.
I've spent since last August taking the piiss out of middle aged twaats who'll be swaggering about in adidas and thinking it's the 90s.
You'll then probably catch me at 10:15 swinging, swaying and belting out 'Champagne Supernova' in an emotional mess.
I'm a ****ing hypocrite!

The only ticket available is more expensive than a City season ticket.
One of them is good value.
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
I saw them in 1994 at the Preston Festival. they were shite then and they're shite now.

There were more of them earlier. Tis pot luck, I know - but you have anadvantage being so close to the gig when someone from Essex or Cleethorpes can't make it due to unforseen circumstances on the day.
Re: Oasis playing in Cardiff
No one mentioned when they played at the Millennium Stadium with Foo Fighters supporting. I went to that one.

No doubt that there's plenty of people on that site waiting to pounce on anything within their budget. My limit is probably alot lower, but we'll see.

Thanks for this, one available for £160, still a bit more than I'm willing to pay but might be an useful website in future

I use it quite a bit for seeing bands I am a little bit interested in but not to the degree that I would see them at full price, for stadium/large venue gigs that I wouldn't tolerate going to at full price (and for reasons I have explained previously) and to avoid paying the exploitative add-ons for booking fees, licking the stamp fees and for fees to send a QR code via email etc.
