Great news for football fans everywhere as it means that clubs have far stricter requirements to consult with their organised elected fans groups on a number of important matters. They also have to evidence to the Independent Regulator that they have taken fans views into account in those consultations

The new obligations on clubs are actually written into the legislation rather than at the discretion of the Regulator. The Regulator (which will be a department made up of about 40 to 50 people) just has to monitor compliance. If clubs break the rules they face the very real risk of having their Licence to operate as a football club removed. Also fans will have the right to contact the Regulator direct if their club is not complying.Quote:
