Or are you a slave to tradition set by those around you and/or those who went beore you? :sherlock:
Wearing a strip of material in the form of a tie is the most ridiculous article of clothing but is somhow considered sartorially elegant by many - and due merely to custom.

I went to my sales meeting last week. Out of 14 people there ( men and women) I was the only one NOT wearing white daps! So you could say it’s conformity to wear white daps now!

The comfort option wins every time.

The most stupid look ever, well maybe second to flares.
Re: White daps with a suit?
When you combine that with "hey, can I get a...", you know you've got a right wanker in front of you.

It looks absolutely ridiculous and shows a complete lack of self awareness especially in a middle aged man who should know better.

Quite dapper all round then.
Re: White daps with a suit?
White socks with sandals are worse
Re: White daps with a suit?
The white trainers fad is an eye roller for me. What’s really bugging me now is when I contact someone re anything and I get thanked for “reaching out”. When did that become everyday English?

A tie is very smart in my opinion and has never gone out of fashion.
I think these dap wearers will look back in years to come and say 'What the feck did I look like'
Re: White daps with a suit?
Daps to work? Really? For god’s sake. The standard of work wear these days is shocking, especially on ‘dress down’ Friday (or whichever day it is). I guess this comes from working from home, which grew out of Covid, but come on…. In work the other day, I heard myself described as ‘you know, always wears a shirt and tie’, like it was something unusual. I guess it is these days, sad to say.

The tie dates back to the apparel worn by the Croats (Hrvat > Croat > Cravat) in the 17th century.
Maybe we should also be wearing matching cod-pieces.

Cod pieces with white daps?
With or without a tie - because it'll look smart with a tie!

Now you're talking. Black bowler hats, black boots, white trousers, white shirt and white cod piece!
No tie - the Chellovecks looked smart enough without a piece of fabric hanging off their necks.

Re: White daps with a suit?
On a side note has anyone on here heard the saying “Diarrhoea with daps on” ?
My Mum used it yrs ago to describe JJ Williams the Welsh rugby union player.
I’d never heard it before, or since. She told me it was a Cardiff saying, but to this day I think she just made it up 😂

I sometimes respond and say that I am not reaching out but making a complaint etc.
And when did all problems become issues?
