Swindon have sold 1,000 tickets so far
for their game against us in the Carabao Cup. That’s good going, there’ll be more of them than us.

Re: Swindon have sold 1,000 tickets so far
Remember going there in 96...fa cup 2nd round i think.
One of my mates noticed not many City fans were watching the football.
We left when we were 2 down with 5 mins left.
As we walked by the ground, a Swindon kid asked us if there was going to be a riot...we just laughed.
Fast forward a week...on radio 5 live phone in, a Swindon fan rang up and asked if there was a blanket ban on reporting trouble.
He said after the game the scum Cardiff fans ran through their town centre kicking all the windows in...suggesting there was a ban because the euros were later that year in England.

He said it wasn't even in the local Swindon paper...makes you think

Re: Swindon have sold 1,000 tickets so far
This equivalent game last season (against Southampton) wasn by some distance the best game of the season really.
I hope we put out a good team and win. A bit of a cup run and a big home game would do us all good

Re: Swindon have sold 1,000 tickets so far
The equivalent last year was Bristol Rovers.

Re: Swindon have sold 1,000 tickets so far
My first ever away game Swindon boxing day 1975.
We were 3 nil down before we got in the ground. I should have given up then !

Okay fair enough, that's right, but I mean an early league cup game at home still. 👍

He was some player. Wasn't he in the the Swindon side that won the League Cup?

It’s a case of 10 other players around him, as he won the league cup

Apparently a crowd of 5718 for the rovers game last season. No idea what they brought.

Swindon have never played at CCS so I would imagine it's going to be a priority away game for many of their fans. New ground, fairly local.

Remember going there over Christmas during the season of TOBW’s book, Tony Evan’s walks on water, not a happy day being on the end of a 4-0 reverse!.

Boxing Day 1975. My first City away game too, and fifty years later I'm still scarred by the memory.

Newport vs Swindon seems to be a bit tasty. Only another 15 miles

Figured as much, afraid we will see lots of excited away fans this year coming to such a big stadium laughing at the state of us. I doubt most ever came to Ninian park either as it was deemed “too scary” back in the dungeon days. Boy are they in for a shock, what with Nash frothing at the mouth trying to please them…..

I still cringe at the Newcastle ‘Blaydon Races’ game, how embarrassing.

And being ‘detained’ before I even got into the ground. I didn’t miss much I know but ffs give me a chance
