Wrexham showing how it should be done
Are you watching Mr Tan? Making sensible championship quality signings. Not the bizarre bunch of rubbish you and your so called experts signed last summer.
This club under you really is a basket case. I hope you do the honourable thing and sell to someone who knows how to run a football club like the Wrexham owners.

I don't think Vincent Tan reads this forum mate, probably going to fall on deaf ears.

It's a pity. Maybe his transfer committee do. They could do with all the help they can get.

A 31 year old with 53 championship and Scottish premiership goals in 245 games......... They were expecting Vardy

He’ll be a decent signing, along with the Empoli defender they’ve acquired.

Re: Wrexham showing how it should be done
Lewis O’Brien signs for Wrexham AFC on a club record fee
26 y o over the hill?

Re: Wrexham showing how it should be done
The first thing those yanks did when they bought into Wrexham was admit they knew nothing about football so brought in a CEO who did.
Whereas Mr Tan...didn't.

13 league goals last year. 19 in 67 league games in last 2 championship seasons. That’s 1 in 3.5 from attacking midfield. Not to be sniffed at. He’s turned into a very good championship player and playing the best football of his career. It’s a very good signing for that level, especially on a free transfer.

If only we had signed these type of players instead of spunking wages on a bunch of has beens.
Hope the first thing the new owner does, if we ever get one is get rid of this transfer committee. They are useless.

Re: Wrexham showing how it should be done
let's wait to see how they did. some of our signings looked ok on paper, players like Willock, Meite, Rinomhota, Chambers, Ramsey etc

That's the problem. They looked ok to you and me. If the transfer committee had an ounce of talent or done any sort of homework, they would have realised what they were signing and steered well clear!

If football was played on paper we might have a chance....

Re: Wrexham showing how it should be done
Another test for the Manager, can he do it in the Championship and how will he cope not having the second-best squad in the league.
Interesting season, they have a hell of a lot of momentum, and the fans' expectations have risen significantly.

I think most sensible fans I.e the ones actually based in wrexham would be happy for the team just to survive the championship this season.

They’ve done well in league 2 and 1, plenty of momentum and confidence but I think they might be found out a bit now. Can the chsmpionship journeymen do it again? Reckon they will survive, just…..

Wrexham get a lot of grief off fans of other teams but the owners recognised their limitations, recognised what they needed to do to be successful and did it.
Yeah they have a massive income compared to many other clubs but loads of clubs have spent a fortune and gone backwards

Each of them had major, major red flags. Windass and O'Brien don't

I think they're both good signings don't get me wrong, but there's no guarantee they'll work out
Windass is the wrong side of 30 and you never know when a player's performance level will drop of a cliff
O'Brien looks like a good signing, but he hasn't played a full season in about 6 years
we'll see how it pans out

I wonder who the city fans were that they spoke to.

Re: Wrexham showing how it should be done
Kieffer Moore has allegedly failed a medical at Wrexham

Windass is good though.
Willock was awful in his last 2 seasons at QPR, Meite never recovered from his ACL and his last seasons at Reading showed that, Rino couldn't pass, Chambers hasn't played regular football since 18/19 and Ramsey is made of class. They're very different scenarios.
