The lack of leadership is a real concern. Chambers and Colwill don’t strike me as natural leaders. Sadly, a glaringly obvious gap to everyone apart from the people that run our club.
On Saturday Colwill was acting like a captain - from his personal performance to the way he was talking and organising. It was epitomised by the way he ran up to Robinson after his big miss, put his arm around him and got him pumped up again.Quote:

My comment about Colwill wasn't to knock him in particular for last night's performance (they all need knocking) but to say that he can do it when he sets his mind to it. I was pleasantly surprised by the way he handled the armband against Peterborough.

Yesterday's game was very similar to Saturday's, except that we managed to score two goals. The same old issues from last season were still on show in both games, and they don't look like going away, especially if we persist in fielding poor players. Our two wingers had LOTS of possession yesterday, and did nothing with it. Salech was starved of the ball, and created very little. Wintle is okay with a pacey man alongside him, but with Turnbull....well, you saw the effect at Port Vale. On the upside, the defence looks better, but come on - we're playing at League One level. Must do better.
