Both Colwills good and making things happen but final touch let them down a few times, probably Wintle on balance
I lean towards Rubin for the confidence in bringing the ball forward and taking on a few players at a time. Sometimes, he could get himself into trouble taking on 4 at once, but he could usually handle 2 quite comfortably. Joel played well too.
Special shoutout to Turnbull too for making the goal happen. Our midfield I would say is the best in the league, and has looked great in every game bar Port Vale so far.
I would go with Joel Colwill for my match of the day
Rubin for me. Drove forward, passed forward, didn’t stop going. He plays like a leader. Joel was good too.
Trott I think should get a mention too.
He did well to keep his concentration for a long period of time before Wimbledon tried for a winner in the last third of the match. He did what he needed to do after some suspect defending and his save at the death was special.
I think too that BBM's substitutions were nothing short of genius.
Willock cross, Turnbull volley and Davies with the deft flick of his knee.
.
Fish, just from wintle
Really hard, Trott won us the game, Fish, Colwill, Colwill and Wintle were superb.
Wintle and Rubin both given 6/10 by Walesonline.
Rubin for me. Kept us moving forward when I thought the momentum had shifted.
I think this answer sums it up really.
What I mean is, last season we were struggling to pick out one from a bad bunch. This season, so far, we are struggling to pick out one from a good bunch.
I would have gone with Fish as MOM, but, as someone else pointed out, the save made by Trott swayed it for me.
That save typified a real team mentality effort, he stayed focussed right up to the end, so when it mattered and his time came, he delivered.
