The underground ones at Hayes Island & Greyfriars Rd, both gone.
It’s the worst rule. Players can just go down holding their heads anytime they challenge for a header and it’ll stop the game. When defending a narrow lead, why wouldn’t you?
I spoke to the cleaner near the one on the Hayes. He said over the years he’s had all sorts in there, drugs, sex, gay sex, fighting but the week before someone actually went in there for a shit. He said it was like a breath of fresh air.
i remember the days you had to walk down to the garden shed. There was no toilet in there but it was out of the rain.
I think that posters on this thread are simply going through the motions.
Are the ones in Cardiff Market, St Mary Street, still operational ?
Vicky park bogs are now a coffee shop
Talking of public amenities, anyone remember the drinking fountain on Kingsway/Friary Gardens? Funny now in these days of health & safety/hygiene standards etc that we used to put our gobs right by or even on the spout to get a drink.
That’s the one, not operational now. Inscription something like, ‘Jesus says whosoever shall drink from this fountain shall thirst again but whoever drinkers from the water I provide shall never thirst’. Much needed amenity I’d imagine when first put there.
There was a water fountain in Llandaff fields. The small stone built fountain holder is still there but alas no water. Similarly there’s an old water fountain on Llandaff road near the traffic lights at Romilly Crescent. Next to where Jimmy Hobby used to live
Harry Arter the ultimate.
