Another away game where we barely had a chance worth the name.
Re: Another away game where we barely had a chance worth the name.
Your description of the goal is fiction. Nyakuhwa’s pass went to Toal inside the Bolton half. Three of their team played the ball before it reached Cozier-Duberry.

Ive only watched it once in the pub. Was he attempting a 40 yard pass. I just remember thinking game over fresh legs sprint forward at least kill the game and maybe set up our own chance. I just remember him stopping and hitting a crap inside pass. Was he really trying to hit a 40 yard cross field ball?

No. Instead of running forward as you described, he turned back on himself and he played it inside but there was no central midfielder there. Well, not a Cardiff City one.

It wasn’t that far. He was trying to find Colwill. Instead, it was cut out by Toal. Colwill, who was only a couple of yards away, strolled back like he was out for a walk in the sunshine. Meanwhile, Toal was allowed to carry the ball about 40 yards unchallenged as Kpakio, Ashford and Turnbull just watched him. Two other Bolton players took possession before it reached Cozier-Duberry. None of them were subject to any kind of challenge.

The city fans were screaming for him to run forward with the ball, the dismay when he attempted that stupid pass was met with cry’s of derision
Re: Another away game where we barely had a chance worth the name.
As I said in another thread, I thought he would have pushed forward and headed towards the corner flag and if nothing else, run the clock down for a point.

Colwill looked knackered from about the 70th minute, I was shocked he stayed on

Murphy has raised the bar with Colwill, and i think that he's benefited from it. A telling comment from Murphy was in a press conference where the predd were gushing over a Colwill performance, can't remember who it was against. Murphy said something along the lines of, Let's not praise him too highly, he should be doing this kind of stuff, which was something i liked, because i agreed with him. Colwill has tailed off a little lately, nothing major, he;s become a bit sloppy, which could be attributed towards fatigue, and i wouldn't be surprised if it is that because Murphy has battered him so far this season, he's had him at Maximum, a different level of intensity.
Re: Another away game where we barely had a chance worth the name.
It was a poor pass, no pace on it, too casual, almost lazy, but the Bolton player who intercepted it basically did what he wanted, he even stopped to take a little look up because there was nothing on, he then proceeded to waltz past one of our players thus giving himself the angle needed to make the pass, he effectively broke the line at that point. Still not that much to get concerned about, yet the Bolton goalscorer was allowed to just come inside, look up, and curl one in from 20 yards or so, no reaction from our defenders, no urgency, they allowed the shot on goal because they didn't want to work hard at that point in the game, if one player had come out and put pressure on then it could have been so much different. So for Bob to just call out the player who made the Bum pass only tells half a story and his comment about him having a miserable week ahead were uncalled for. There were another 4 or 5 players who didn't do their job and i'm surprised Bob didn't mention it.

That’s what he should’ve done. There were twenty seconds left when Nyakhuwa gave possession away and I maintain that the place you don’t play the ball so late in the game, is in the direction of the opposition’s most dangerous player.

He didn’t. Have you bothered to watch any of the highlights?

For clarity, 13 seconds elapsed from the moment Toal intercepted Nyakuhwa's pass to the moment Cozier-Duberry took possession of the ball - 13 seconds during which a number of City players just stood off their opponents and allowed them to move the ball around unhindered.
Re: Another away game where we barely had a chance worth the name.
We were asking for it. Im sure it was injury time when we won a free kick on the left just inside their half. The camera switched elsewhere and when it came back Bolton are on the attack. WTF happened there?
We really did all we could to gift them 3 points as nearly all their attacks were from unforced errors from start to finish
