Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
I took a stroll round the perimeter of the stadium before the first game against Man City.
I counted more than twenty TV trucks ready to beam the game round the world - and theworld saw a cracker!
For me, a significant sign of the 'big time' that is the Premier League!
The next season in the Championship there wasn't one truck in the compound for the first game.

Sitting with my head in my hands amongst the West Ham fans as Joe Cole scored!

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Realising that the big teams really do get all the decisions when Wayne Rooney didn't get sent off for kicking Jordon Mutch.

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Palace away. Terrible day out.

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Watching the Man City game in a bar in Tunisia, and being gutted that I wasn't in Cardiff for it
Being one of the few who stayed to the end during our thrashings by Hull & Palace
Being in the Canton Sports Bar for the West Brom game, and the whole place going nuts when Daehli scored
Zaha not getting a stonewall penalty at Goodison before Everton went up the other hand and slice home a winning goal. I knew we were down that day
Dodgy streams

Doing the poznan.
“Don’t sack Mackay” song.
Gary Medel.
That’s about it.

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Man City home and feeling the greatest adrenalin rush and shared euphoria ever at a football match.
West Brom away for never say die and playing to the 96th minute.
Watching the pro-Malky protest at Anfield on a pub TV and thinking the club was in total meltdown.
Ole Gunnar Solskjær's interviews changing from boyish enthusiasm to little boy lost!

I had a nightmare time trying to watch online. My Internet here is painfully slow, this wasn't helped by trying to use a rather old laptop. It seemed like most who use this messageboard were at the game, so there wasn't many links posted up for live streams.

Trying to watch games streamed in a dodgy bar in Phnom Penh Cambodia
Locals fixated on Man U Arsenal Chelsea
Every other team in the Prem were rubbished and they didn’t appreciate my attempts to convert them to support the City

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Walking across Stanley Park, an hour after the game with "don't sack Mackay" still ringing in my ears, 4 points clear of the drop zone, averaging a point a game, thinking who in their right mind would!

Bournemouth away. Started drinking up there 11 am Saturday morning, staggered out of a club on sunday morning at 4.30 am. What a weekend that was!

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
March for blue before the Liverpool game. It's one of the only times where it felt like Cardiff City were in the premier league.
Thank goodness it feels different this time.

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Getting swept aside by Southampton in the first 20 minutes at my first ever game in the CCS. All the red in the ground. I wanted to leave at half time, but I forced myself to stay.

Ah, the wonders of modern branding & marketing

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
In hindsight my highlight was relegation, personally it was the best thing that happened. If we’d have survived & were still surviving someone else would be sat in my seat and red would be reigning supreme. I’m pretty sure I’d have jacked it in over the rebrand after a couple of seasons of giving it a go.

Re: Your abiding memories of the last time City were in the EPL
Gong from 2-0 up against Sunderland in the 84th minute to 2-2 seemed huge at the time and so it turned out to be. I can also remember being in the queue to get in for the next home game against a completely out of form West Ham team that was also racked by injuries and hearing Ole speaking to the crowd about what he was going to do over the coming months - I didn't know why I thought it, but the words "oh no" flashed into my mind as I heard him speak.

RED!
Tan's trousers.
In 50 years of supporting the club, it was without doubt my least favourite season. And that really is saying something.....

Vincent Tan was at the majority (if not all) the home games in the EPL. You could clearly pick him out from the Ninian, usually standing at the back of the box.
I got the distinct impression he reveled in rubbing shoulders with the likes of Lord Ferguson (above).
It would be good to see more of him next season.
