Yeah. Just saw the BBC website.
slightly less underwhelming than Harris appointment
Will be a short term appointment till end of season.
Without a doubt our worst moment footballing wise since we got promoted in 2003. What an embarrassing display of a total lack of ambition. Anyone defending the board and justifying it as a 'avoid relegation appointment', give your heads a wobble.
This is same old gutless, boring, ambitionless, circus club Cardiff City. What a pathetic, pathetic appointment.
People keep on saying that, but I've yet to see a link confirming it, there's nothing about it here;-

FFS!!!!!!!
Two more years of route1 football until he's sacked then!
If it’s true, then:
1. Jesus wept
2. It endorses Bellamy’s comments about the club not being willing to give someone time to embed a philosophy.
It smacks of the same short term view that led to Warnock.
Not exactly progressive, is it.
Just give us a Director of Football!
I like Mick but not sure I want him as our manager.
I think he’ll be an improvement on Harris but it does seem like more short termism from the board.
I don't know why they can't see we need a long term plan.
Better than Harris no doubt but unless it's until the end of the season then terrible decision.
This is so depressing.
Cardiff City, where has been managers go to die
Not sure what to think.
If you didn't know better you'd think our board were on the wind up.
I wait for MD or Choo to tell us how we're going in another direction.
Behave! There is no positive spin to put on this piling steam of Scheisse.
Could we be using the Mick story to lure in a good manager?:cry::cry::cry: we aren't doing that are we :cry::cry::cry:
Hope you’re all excited for the progressive football we hounded out Harris for
Grass isn’t always greener
I think this is a realistic appointment in the circumstances. The ship needs to be steadied before a younger manager is brought in.
Please this cannot be true.
Isn’t that what we got told before Warnock came in (abeit with a lot of success)
When will we stop looking for a stop gap manager to steady to ship, and just bite the bullet and get someone in who we will give time to rebuild this club and the philosophy.
We're going to know a lot more about the club's future plans from:
- MM first couple of interviews
- what the board says when announcing him
- what happens in the summer: whether MM stays on and what new players are brought in
- (if he stays on, how things progress next year)
No need to judge just on the name being announced.
:hehe: :hehe:
F*cking hell
Not my choice, but it depends on how long the contract is. If it's not just until the end of the season then it's worse than we thought with those idiots at the club. Mccarthy was decent in the transfer market at wolves, especially at bringing lower level players in and getting a tune out of them, although that was years ago.
Predictions on where we will finish this season with Mick in charge?
I've come to a conclusion though.
Vincent Tan is a long ball man. Probably supported the crazy gang in their pomp.
Yet again, the pathetic lack of imagination or ambition from those in charge is exposed by this appointment.
Tan needs to sell up. The entire set up needs to go. The state of this football club, jesus wept.
Would you take/would this work..
Mick til end of season, Bellamy his assistant, Bellamy takes over in the summer, Mick gets a big pay off or a upstairs role at the club.
This.
I think 12-18 months down the line we will be saying much the same.
Those at the top are just playing at running a football club. It screams of a lack of knowledge and very little planning. This is what we can see too, what gaffs happen behind the scenes.
TAN OUT
Are any of us surprised?
It is underwhelming but we cling to the hope that this is some sort of temporary solution to see Cardiff to the summer, hopefully avoid relegation and look to appoint a new manager with long term ambitions.
Im stunned.
Theres obviouly no attempt to get Eddie Howe or try to get Poch when he was available
We reached the FA Cup final a few years ago loads of top managers would be queing up we may even have tempted Klopp.
Only Cardiff City could be so ...
StT.
<><
And here is main Walesonline journalist saying length of contract not yet agreed:
Can we maybe let them explain their thoughts first? Especially those who felt MM might be a good caretaker until end of the year.Quote:
Full story here. Cardiff City are set to appoint Mick McCarthy as their new manager.
Whether that is just until the end of the season or longer is still being decided, I am led to believe - https://twitter.com/GlenWilliams12/s...70007176278016
well with any luck we won't be allowed back in the ground this season anyway
