UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City not included anymore
See link. Thankfully not us.

Looks like it's all caught up with Derby.

Re: Eight EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - Not City
Yep we haven’t signed anybody at all this year and lost a stack of players. Three key players are lost to us for the new season. Omar Richards gone to Bayern Munich on a free, Michael Olise on the verge of leaving and Yakou Meite suffered ruptured ligament damage last week.
-
Re: Eight EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - Not City
So that means Gavin Whyte won't be signing permanently for Hull - I can see another loan coming up for him.

Maybe he will just stay with us Paul? There again I can't see that happening. I think he is on a 4 year deal too, so if that is correct we'd have him for two more years unless we can offload. It would free up some wages for another signing.
I heard Joe Day has got a 3 year deal at Newport, which the fans are not happy about. On a third of what he was on with us.

Oh good. Default in transfer payments, apparently.

So does this mean the Palace money ends the embargo for Reading?

Presumably this is Sala?

Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
I assume this is connected to Sala.
Doesnt look like we'll be paying transfer fees anytime soon.
I think Watters the last fee we paid, or was it Ng?
-
Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
Surely if a transfer fee is (rightly or wrongly) disputed, then it can’t be considered to be in default?

I think they tried to do this before and City had it suspended because the case was still unsettled. I' not sure though, that may have been UEFA or FIFA.
-
Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
If this is true it is big news and may explain the delays in new signings (loan fees covered by the transfer ban?) that were supposed to be announced weeks ago - the Wolves wing back for instance.
May also explain why transfers Dalman claimed were approved last month have not materialised (unless he meant the two out of contract signings).
Surely the club needs to make a statement to clarify/confirm the position?
One day soon Wales Online may even pick up the story - but only if they have exhausted every last piece of speculative bullshit on what Harry Wilson might or might not do next year.
I hope this doesn’t delay the Gareth Bale unveiling!

Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
No idea what this means.
Does it mean that we can’t buy or sell players?
If so, for how long ?
What about loans?
Can they dispense with it by catching up on their late transfer installements?
Can they appeal ?

Time for the club to issue a statement.

I'm pretty certain it's due to Sala, which won't be paid until a court rules

Agreed, a lot of people were critical of that survey from a few months ago which placed City as among the worst of the ninety two when it came to things like customer care and keeping fans abreast of developments at the club. The rating did seem harsh, but things like this and the lack of access regarding season ticket renewal for supporters (especially those without access to a computer) makes you think they may have had a point.

Could possibly be Keiffer Moore, but it's hard to think of anyone else it could be besides those two.

If it is Sala, what has changed since the January window when we paid transfer fees and the dispute was waiting resolution at the CAS - as now?

Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
Two links quoted here.
One in April which says it’s an accounting disparity arising from Covid regulations, and that it won’t actually effect Ccfc. The other up to date link doesn’t mention ccfc in the list.
Hard to imagine that the club would be silent , so are we getting the wrong end of the stick ?

Members of CCMB getting the wrong end of the stick!
How very dare you!

The reported transfer fee for Moore was less than £2m.

I tend not bash the club at every opportunity as I have no idea how a football club is run but they keep saying it is minor technicalities surely if they are minor they can avoid them - I can't imagine it is healthy being on the EFL radar let alone trying to attract new players as and when any ban is lifted?
-
Re: UPDATED- EFL Clubs under transfer embargoes - City included
We got enough goodies in the squad with slim line Tomlin back ,keep hold of Moore, Collins looks a decent forward back up .
The younger lads like Colwill ,Harris ,Bagan etc etc .
Bring on those promising youngsters I say .

counterpoint:
We weren't good enough last season and our squad is objectively worse now.

the page clearly states they've only started publishing them since June 2021 , so it is definitely recent.

It’d be very naive to assume Championship clubs would be in the habit of paying. Seven and eight figure transfer fees off in one go. Look at how we accepted Arsenal’s smaller but paid up front fee for Ramsey - that was clearly an unusual type of offer.

Polite Counterpoint 2 :
Tomlin fitter
Moore full season behind him
Crowds back
Colwill ,Harris ,Bagan further developed
MM first close season preparation

I agree, so if we're defaulting on the Moore transfer fee then it's probably a payment of less than £1m, which seems unlikely, unless we're completely skint.

The accounting situation was resolved in May/June when up to date accounts were submitted and we were removed from the previous embargo list. This is obviously a separate transfer issue but it is odd that City were not mentioned as being on the list in the BBC News report a few days ago and then mysteriously appeared yesterday. Indicates that if it is correct that the club were probably not aware it was going to happen. No doubt a statement will follow soon. I think it is naive that the club should be expected to notify the fans of everything that is happening ‘behind the scenes’.
