Someone's got to say it, he's not very good
That's largely why he's had a zillion clubs, but he can be useful for holding the ball up if we want to close a game down.
He seems more interested in trying to outmuscle opponents than getting hold of the ball.
I thought we'd all already accepted this and it was part of his charm?
Every cameo he makes reminds me of when David James had a game up front under Stuart Pearce.
He provides an option as a sub to bully late in the game, he will bag you goals.
He's scored 2 goals in about 50 minutes of playing, give him a chance.
Did you? He spent the entire time wrestling the defenders trying to win free kicks, on the occasions he had the ball in a good position rather than giving it to the men in space he tried audacious shots that flew well wide, his teammates were clearly pissed off with his decisions
I thought he played ok , as I’ve alluded to and he lifts the crowd … Genuine Cardiff fans love players like him.I appreciate it’s all about opinions , however , to create a thread saying he’s crap is unnecessary.
I don’t think he will score 15 goals a season but he offers a different dimension when needed , (which is why he was a substitute)
Hugill's the obvious comparison to Ikpeazu, he does his fair share of wrestling with defenders, but his main aim is to win the ball, control it and bring others into play. Ikpeazu when he came on was backing into defenders to the detriment of actually getting the ball, controlling it and bringing others into the game. His main aim was to win free kicks and the ref quickly saw what he was doing
Taking audacious shots from outside the box when there's far better options on is not part and parcel of a striker's game, it's part and parcel of a poor striker's game.
To be fair to him he had a defender's arms wrapped around him most of the time he was on the pitch.
