5pm press conference from the PM
Election announcement maybe?
-
Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
If it is it could mean the football governance bill being shelved.

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
BBC are saying 4 July as well. Although the correspondent I was listening to just now didn’t say it exactly, it sounded like it was going to be called because ithe situation will be about as good as it’s going to get for Sunak’s five pledges.

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
With the improvement in inflation figures and the possibility of interest rate cuts it would have made sense to wait till November
So he's called it very early
Borrowing figures are poor so they can't cut taxes
Seems like a very bad time to call it
I am hoping he's done it knowing he's lost and wants to see so many of his backstabbing crew like braverman , Truss etc lose their seats
Revenge and all that

I guess the fact that they are going to have to spend north of 10 billion on the infected blood scandal means there will be no room for tax cuts in September, so now is probably as good as it gets

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
If they arent voted out in a massive landslide its time to give up.

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Hilarious as Sunak is waffling on about how good he's been and someone is blasting out "Things Can Only Get Better" :hehe:
-
Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Nothings their fault. Theyve been brilliant. I think JamesWales wrote his garbage speach.😂

I hear that
I am all for ripping into the Tories but that's a bit embarrassing assuming it's a Labour supporting stunt
After a few years Blair went mad and the rest is history

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Sunak confirms election to take place on 4 July
Sunak says the king has granted the dissolution of parliament, and the election will be on 4 July.
-
Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Oh dear. I don't think this is going the way he imagined it!
-
Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Sounds like the Tory campaign is going to be all about protecting us from the enemy within and without - they’ve got nothing else to run on.

I would love them to be absolutely leathered but I think it will be a hung parliament with labour having most seats and forming a coalition or minority government

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Sludge the tw@t got soaked. Perhaps a sign truthpaste is right?

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM

If we hold on until the 5th we can likely have Sunak in with Hunt as his assistant.

That was the funniest thing I've seen for ages

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Giving away 6 months in office when inflation is down ten points
Seems odd

The Labour manifesto is probably going to be pretty bland.
The Tories would have to have some astonishingly good ideas in their manifesto to stand even a tiny chance of getting close.
And from what Robert Preston said,MP's were still discussing manifesto ideas this morning.
There could be a lot of midnight oil burnt in no 10 and Conservative Party Headquarters in the next couple of days!

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
Sunak is a geek
And it seems his announcement was a disaster
On another day he seems to be a fairly decent if detached fella with not much awareness
But compare him to Boris, Truss , Braverman , Patel who are odious in most peoples opinion

Do you mean have moderate policies in the manifesto and then get more radical afterwards?

No I mean don't say too much so the tory press can't start nonsense

Re: 5pm press conference from the PM
On the same day that Police are told to make fewer arrests - because for the last 14 years we haven't built enough prison spaces. Two major new prisons were put on hold because of badger sets on site. So our streets will be even less safe, but a few mangy badgers will be. Ain't life grand.

Im not so sure about that
Inflation down,
BoE suggesting that the next meeting interest rates will fall again.
Unemployment down
Small boats policy solution now a deterrent
All Sir Keir has to do now is match the policies and spending commitments, not sure he has the bollox - but you never know.
Angie needs to sort her council house address pretty soon and Gething needs to start opening up his bribery scheme to the general public - he could make a fortune...
