Re: Championship football all day today
Feels weird rooting for a team two points behind us but I feel it's between us and Derby so I want a Luton win

I'm undecided on that one. A draw probably does least overall damage?

It does, I just feel that if we finish above Derby we'll be ok. But yeah not entirely sure

Has to be a Luton win.
If Luton win worst case scenario we start the Oxford game just 1 point away from 21st.
Luton got Bristol City Coventry and West brom last 3 games. 5th 6th and 7th.
Not impossible they may not get too many more points.
We aren't going to be staying up with 52 points or something. Maybe 47 with 1 win and 2 draws and hope Luton and derby both get less than 4 points in their last 3 games.

I agree it has to be a Luton win today for us to have a snowball’s (pardon the pun Derby).

Re: Championship football all day today
If Plymouth win today and we draw then the bottom 4 teams will all be on 43 points.....
(If Luton hold on)

I reckon Swansea will.throw the game today. Anything to see us down.
We'd probably do the same.

Don’t be daft. They’ve beaten Derby and Plymouth in their last two home games.

Do you honestly think players give a shit about rivalries? I suspect some of them are more up for derby matches but beyond that... Nah.

Three last-ditch clearances from McGuinness. Clear man of the match so far.
The standard of football in this one is howling. Absolute garbage. And yet both of these teams have won more games than City this season.

Depressing isn't it? Including wins against us.
I like Aasgaard, good player, quick feet. The rest, well...

Yes, been impressed by him every time I’ve seen him. Only 22. Really good prospect it seems.

What a poor poor set of players here.
The championship really can be garbage at times

Maybe we put it down to nerves, but that was of truly appalling quality.
-
Re: Championship football all day today
McGuinness - 19 clearances and an assist. Man of the match by a distance. All credit to him, but what a woeful game of football.

I actually enjoyed that, fast pace, stacks of goalmouth action. Agreed that the 'quality' wasn't there, but I'd slit my throat if I had sit through most Man City games in recent years..

They “needed” to beat Derby back then, they were in danger themselves, after three wins they are fine. Just goes to show what a little fun can do. I would bet on them losing today allday long

Re: Championship football all day today
Watford beating Burnley will give Sheff Utd a bit of an extra boost to score as many against us as possible, not that they will likely need it

Is there a case for this being the personnel decision that might have done the most to possibly send us down? Definitely got a decent fee for him and not necessarily going to fulfill the potential he looked like at one point, but equally we then wasted most of it on Daland who has been shocking, we've gone from having a very settled and solid three man rotation to a revolving door where arguably our best option at this point isn't even a center back.

Re: Championship football all day today
Looks like Norwich have fallen apart, they need a day out at the ccs to revive their season like so many others did…..great to see Portsmouth showing some balls
-
Re: Championship football all day today
Middlesbrough 1 Plymouth 1
Swansea 0 Hull 0
Norwich 1 Portsmouth 3

I’m with you there. Our defensive standards have plummeted and they weren’t great before.
On matters at the top, I can’t see Burnley’s result making much difference to our game.

I just posted this on the wrong thread:
This is what it's come to. The ultimate humiliation, celebrating a Swansea goal.

Re: Championship football all day today
In League One, Wrexham 1-0 down at home to Bristol Rovers and Wycombe leading by the same score at Bolton.
