Over 10,000 season tickets sold
-
Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
We've sold more season tickets than there are seats at 7 of next season's opponents grounds
I think those who are planning on us taking big numbers around the league will be disappointed, there isn't the room!

Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Quicker to reach 10k sales this season than last season I believe

Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Really don't understand why we're so keen to reward Tan for his failure in running the club, but hey-ho.

You don't understand why Cardiff City fans are buying Cardiff City season tickets?

I should imagine like myself, they try to put Tan out of their mind as much as they can. We support the team not the owners.

Personally I love the club far more than I dislike Tan. That should be the benchmark for any Bluebird and I clear answer to your question

Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Plus if you ignore the football it's terrific value!!
We haven't renewed ours yet, wanted to move seats and couldn't be bothered contacting the club so just waiting for them to come back onto sale.
I wonder how many more are likely to be sold. At this stage i'd imagine any competent manager might actually have a slight bump given it kind of feels like the club has forgotten atm.

I moved seats. Went to the ticket office today. Very helpful and easily moved seats.

First dibs for away tickets next season is going to have to be ST holder plus 10 aways last season, at a guess. Looking at away capacities, many "new" grounds are around 1200/1500 in the away end. Might be why ST sales are higher than last year. 11 new grounds for me (and only 7 league aways). Would not suprise me if first dibs goes to something like 10 aways last season and, depending when the fixture comes up, plus 3 aways this season. Stevenage....Wimbledon. What delights beckon?

What reward? These sales amount to no more than ~£3.5m.
Tan spends far more than that every year. If I recall he puts in something to the tune of £12m each season of his own money. Tan himself won’t see a penny of this money.

Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Really impressive sales considering the state of the club.

Can you move seats online Mike?

No. The seat map has been taken down off the website. Either visit the ticket office (where they can show you the live map of available seats) or do it over the phone.

we just like going to watch our football team with our friends/family mate, there's bigger things to worry about in the world than a relegation and an owner you don't like

Bollocks…most of that is of his own doing hiring and firing, wasting millions….how much does he was on Dalman and choo, and the interest on loans to Dalman? Millions?

12 of them, apparently.
Which is my point. We’re not rewarding Tan by renewing, as the money won’t be going anywhere near his pocket. It won’t even cover the squad’s wages for the season, let alone every other cost associated with owning a football club.

It was tough work on the phone today! Not possible on line, only by phone. I tried 9 times before I got through and was waiting for about 45 minutes when I did. The hold music was tortuous!

They’ll just have to move the venue then! 15,000 to Stevenage on a wet Tuesday night
Joking aside Birmingham probably took their full allocation at every ground last season.

What grounds are you thinking of with us tiny away ends?
Stevenage 1,400
Wimbledon 1,500
Orient 1,000
Then the likes of Wigan give 4k
Might be a struggle sometimes but I think requiring 10 aways is a bit of a stretch.
Probably start at 3/4 from last season IÂ’d say

Rounding them down to the nearest hundred to be on the safe side, these are the 11 grounds I've not been to:
Wimbledon 1400
Exeter 1300
Orient 1200
Lincoln 1900
Mansfield 1500
Northampton 1400
Peterborough 1600
Stevenage 1300
Stockport 1300 (2100 if needed)
A decent allocation at:
Bradford 4500
Doncaster 3300
Numbers taken from each club's official website. Exeter, Wimbledon, Orient and Stevenage will sell out easily even if midweek. A starting point of 3 or 4 aways...I'd be happy with that but, I fear demand will exceed supply and some grounds may not get to a general away sale point IMHO.

He loves wasting cash on us it seems, most of it needlessly, he doesn’t seem to learn so just let him carry on until he either gets lucky with another manager or sells us on….

It’s like a flashback to the late 80’s/90’s……Orient away 1988, now that was a day n half

Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Maybe people are actually looking forward to us playing some decent football and actually winning more games than loosing ? Also refreshing going to some different and new grounds .

But do you support 'the team' atmospehere is dreadful. most people just sit thier watching the football. just merley putting money into the club/tans hands. i've renewed, but I wish we could allmake a stance and not to send them a message!!
-
Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
The fact that football supporters will keep on forking out good money to support their club is what sets football aside from other businesses. No other businesses could deliver shite to their paying customers year in year out and have them coming back for more.
I completely get the calls for a season ticket boycott, but it would likely be a long old slog. It took Blackpool fans four years of boycotting home matches before they saw the back of the Oystons, and for all Tan's total ineptitude at running the club, we're nowhere near the level of dissatisfaction needed to commit to that. (At the moment anyway!)
-
Re: Over 10,000 season tickets sold
Being brutally honest - I have renewed because being in my mid 60s I pay OAP rates, as do many who buy season tickets; it costs just £234 for 23 games - so £10 per game!!
Paying as a walk up would cost nearly twice that.
I do not buy a drink in the ground or a programme, so the club cannot be making much out of me or many others.
Our ST prices are unbelievable value but are they priced too cheap?

No.
Other clubs should be looking to match our prices, not us to theirs

They are where they need to be I think. Start charging more, particularly at the moment and you turn some people away.
At present we have plenty of spare capacity which helps us offer tickets cheaper. If we were getting close to capacity then it would make sense that the club should charge more.

100% this.
Worth bearing in mind that our prices would still make us almost certainly the most expensive third tier team in the world outside of the other clubs in League One.
