AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail

Qualification : Port Vale + 4 away games last season for Season Tickets Holders (6+ for members).
Same both fixtures. Sure Luton won't be an issue at 12.30 on Sky!

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
So essentially if you didn’t go to Port Vale you aren’t going to Wimbledon.
Very harsh on away fans who went to multiple games last season.

They did similar a few years back, think we had Wigan and then Reading, first 2 aways. Had to go to Wigan to qualify for a Reading ticket.
It does seem harsh on some.

Very annoying. Had earmarked Wimbledon as the first game of the season for me.

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
Home end it is then (at least if you live in England)!

I share a postcode with the Wimbledon stadium so that won’t be a problem for myself. Rather not however.
Be helpful if the club publicised how many tickets we get given, other clubs do.

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
Doing a bit of scouring the internet, it appears the max capacity of their away end is 1494 not including seats removed as a separation barrier (if they even do that). Wimbledon have given out over 1188 tickets at least 4 times since New Years Day, Bradford taking just under 1300 in February.
Hopefully the club have pushed for more than the 946 allocation Lincoln received this weekend and it's much closer to the maximum. If so I suspect near enough everyone who wants to go will. If it's around the 900 mark then there's going to be a lot of disappointed people.

Yep. Just checked and 1500 seems the max. We'll take more than that to PV, I'm sure, meaning those who did plenty of aways last season (but not PV) could well miss out if (when?) demand exceeds supply.

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
Also can anyone explain why the supporters coaches are able to circumnavigate these 'strict criteria' when purchasing on behalf of those who have reserved a seat?
That's a complete joke if I've been informed accurately.
-
Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
I won’t be adding Wimbledon into my 92 then. Shame. Probably the same for Stevenage. The downside of small stadiums.

Unless we are flying in december I'd be surprised if Stevenage has the same issues that this game is going to. Freezing cold night in the most expensive month of the year and the kids aren't out of school. In theory that should be easier.

I can’t say this with any certainty, but I think you’ve probably been misinformed.
When I ran buses as a member of the club’s official travel group, I could reserve and obtain tickets for those who travelled on my coaches, but I had to supply their details (names and fan numbers) and they had to qualify by whatever criteria the club had laid down.

Someone who attends travel meeting will be better placed but my understanding is they'll get tickets for people as part of booking the coach but only if they meet the correct criteria.

Not the case. You still have to meet the criteria/provide your fan number to prove such.

It's approx 1,100 apparently. Not expecting any additional allocations.

I think that’s a shame for Wimbledon. We would probably take 2500 - 3000, it could be a lot of lost revenue for them.
Last season
Ave league attendance 8000
Ave Tues attendance 7500
Highest attendance 8664 v Port Vale promotion clash
Ave attendence Mar onwards 8500 (last 8 league game promotion push)
Theoretical Capacity 9,125
Looks like no room for increase.

Trouble with having such criteria is that those who dont qualify will already be behind when criteria is announced based on this seasons aways.

That is absolutely scandalous.
(We are away on holiday and so will miss them both anyway but IÂ’d be livid. In fact I livid anyway! Lol)

Glad to hear that is the case!

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
Still can’t get over this.
Who’s idea is it to base it on a game on a solitary game on a Thursday night in the summer holidays over last seasons 24 games. Would love to know which person is actually responsible for that decision if it ludicrous.
The knock on effect is that I will now be 0/3 from this season and very unlikely to get a Stockport ticket, which will make it 0/4 having done 12 aways last season
-
Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
I wasn't bothered with Port Vale away when they made it a Thursday but the chap that runs our bus is a decent man so didn't want to let him down.
It now means a 6 am start in work Thursday finish at 12 then off to PV followed by a 6am start on Friday.
Glad I put myself out now.

When the away side limits tickets numbers due to capacity, there's very little CCFC can do, except to introduce rulings which restrict those who can apply. Sure, they could make it 'first come, first served', but this would affect those who travel week in-week out. I guess whatever you do, someone misses out.
It would be interesting if someone could look at the ground capacity of all the clubs we face in League 1, to see where this is likely to happen again. I think it could be a bit of an issue this season. You might want to go, but you may not get a ticket....

There are 5 stadiums with a lower capacity than Wimbledon
Including Mansfield on the final day...

I think you’re missing the point. Of course they need to restrict it so it isn’t first come first served but basing it on one game this season compared to last season or the last few seasons is ludicrous.
If I had missed out as the cut off was 13 aways last season there would’ve been no complaints

Re: AFC Wimbledon & Luton Town : Away Tickets detail
Looking at the Wimblefon sales criteria again, ticket on sale date was advertised on August 4th. You had to have purchsed a PV ticket by August 1st to be included in sales criteria for Wimbledon away. Tough if you purchased a PV ticket on 2nd or 3rd August then.

1200 for each. Hence the criteria. I think it will go down to stage 3.

It is still like this now Dave; they must still fit the criteria.

Looking at Wimbledon away allocation, shouldn't that be just under 1500 rather than 1,200?

I’ve read somewhere that our allocation is 1,080.
The EFL rules are 2,000 or 10% if the capacity is less than 20k. There capacity is 9,125. Therefore in theory we’re due 912 tickets.

Just a crazy thought I know but… how about someone from the club actually explaining the reasoning behind the criteria up front because it is different from the usual method used?

Does my appearance at the Accrington Stanley v Oldham game this evening count for anything?
