Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Fish being out is a worry. That leaves up with Chambers and Lawlor, with no-one to really step up as a sub. With Wintle, at least we have King, who is worth giving a start. Daland has basically been told to leave, so that worries me. I guess we call up Debono, Spiers or someone, give him a chance as a sub? I guess we give Tanner another chance, but Robinson and/or Davies might want some game time also.
Trott
Bagan-Lawlor-Chambers-Kpakio
King
Colwill 1 and Colwill 2
Ashford-Salech-Tanner
Bench: Turner, Giles, Debono/Spiers, Turnbull, Nyakuhwa, Robinson, Davies

You'd imagine Daland would be on the bench even if he's leaving

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Didn’t King have a brief spell as CB during one of the preseason games? Might see him as cover.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
It says assessed after knocks. Both will probably be available.

There’s a thread on this MB about the design of the match day programme for this season. It’s basically iconic moments from the past with current players heads put on.

What a ghastly thing the Programme Department have done this season turning iconic images into something tacky. But the Club have a history of this sort of thing, don't they?
Why couldn't they have simply kept the original iconic photos for the programme covers?

Callum Chambers, FA Cup in one hand, fag in another & Trixie on his knee is the one I’m looking forward to.

Well, we had great programme covers last season and we finished bottom of the league - logic implies that we surely have to be going up this season if where we finish is determined by programme cover.

Trott
Kpakio
Fish (Chambers if Fish is unfit)
Lawlor
Bagan
King
J Colwill
Davies
R Colwill
Robinson
Salech
We have two of the most talented strikers in the division, our defence is pony so would like to see them both starting until the defense is sorted out. Maximise our chance of goals.
I'd be half tempted to give Giles a go tomorrow, Bagan hasn't impressed so far this season.

Bagan was good on Tuesday and he gets stuck in unlike Callumity. Give him a chance to grow into his role.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Isn't their main striker (Nombe?) injured? Maybe Lawlor and Callumity will be able to cope.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Rotherham sold 304 tickets (although Pay On The Gate available tomorrow too).

3-0 City
Salech x2
Davies

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Rotherham have beaten us once since 2016 and that was a 5-2 bashing.

A very strange concept for sure.
I’m going to go for a 2-1 victory with Salech getting off the mark and Rubin continuing his goal scoring form

They haven't won in any of their last 8 visits to Cardiff, just under 27 years since they won away to us.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Can't make it tomorrow but what I have seen so far it is a massive positive to what we have had in previous seasons so come on lets get behind this set of youngsters and support them to the hilt
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Think the weather will affect play. Maybe a laboured game with very few chances and lots of changes of personnel.
I am hoping our stronger squad will out.
1-0 City with a late winner.
Ps make sure you take suncream if going! 🏜

Re: CARDIFF CITY v ROTHERHAM UTD. Match thread
Cardiff City have won six of their last eight league games against Rotherham United (D1 L1), winning this exact fixture 2-0 the last time it was played in September 2023 in the Championship.
Rotherham United have failed to win any of their last eight away league games against Cardiff City (D3 L5), since a 1-0 victory at Ninian Park in August 1998.
Cardiff are unbeaten across their opening two League One games this season (W1 D1), last remaining unbeaten across their opening three league games of a campaign in 2021-22 (W1 D2).
Rotherham have failed to win any of their last 11 away league games against sides from Wales (D4 L7), since a 1-0 win over Wrexham in September 2007.

Thinly veiled, I’m moaning at the posters who are moaning about the posters who are moaning about the programme covers. As Officer Crabtree in Allo Allo would say, ‘Good Moaning’!
