Undisclosed fee suggests a fee was paid.
Ive never heard free transfer been put in undisclosed fee category.

I think 'ordinary' is a not as good as 'average'. If we had Brereton-Diaz, Gallagher and Dack, we could perhaps carry one or two, but we don't.

Wise move after all then - £12 better off. Hats off to those long suffering fans who travelled.

Given the players we have and his time at Boro, you'd have to be barking to think Warnock would get us to 14th.

It boils down to who you believe doesn’t it, all I’m saying is what our then manager answered when asked if a fee had been paid for Simpson. It’s possible that both could be right, if, for example, there was no transfer fee but City took over the remainder of Simpson’s contract with Rangers - I can remember that happening with Gareth Ainsworth when he came here and it was reported we’d paid 50k (what was left on the contract) for him.

When the season ends and one or two sides have been relegated by a couple of points, it's having to many 'ordinary' players in your team that causes the problems.
Whyte and Harris aren't OK. Whyte was a squad player for Oxford last season and Harris is crap. He's really reverted to type. Sang is fine, he's not terrible. Ng is average, he's got major deficiencies as a centre half. He's short, and he drops off all the time.
Hudson is panicking, because we are shit. I don't blame him. I don't know what I'd do. We are up shit creek.

Good, although we're still paying his wages. Rangers fans were laughing their heads off when we signed him...
We've wasted so much money on wages this summer. Simpson, Sawyers, Ojo, Whyte, Nkounkou etc, all players that aren't up to it on decent money. We've got 27 first teamers. If we drop that to 22, we save 5 players' wages, which is £2.5m. It is mental money. We could have bought two good players with that. Morison and the recruitment team have put us in the same position we were last summer, with a squad of crap players that nobody wants just eating away at the wage budget.

True, but I'd hate this squad to be in the bottom 3 with 10 games to go - we're starting to struggle with confidence now, it would be shot to pieces by then. It does feel that the time's nearly up for Hudson.

Possibly, but the original post had a point - as bad as we were, we didn't really deserve to lose that. We lost thanks to a fortunate deflection. For me it was disappointing that we didn't have another gear to go into to really take the game to them.

The last three games have been played in a manner which suggests that the team came off against Blackpool thinking “if we can’t win a game like that, we’ll never win one”.

10k a week in wages, 500k a year. 2.5m saved. That's probably a low estimate for people like Sawyers and Ojo.

At some stage, you stop being unlucky and you start being rubbish.

Re: BLACKBURN ROVERS v CARDIFF CITY. Match thread
Not sure we're any luckier or unlucky than any other season.
It is just when you're in the brown stuff as we are currently then the decisions and rubs of the green not coming off impact that much more.

We were definitely lucky last season due to a few clubs having points deducted. We may well have gone down last year , if it wasn’t for the deduction’s as the pressure of being closer to the bottom would have affected the team and perhaps galvanised the clubs around us.

I think the introduction of Doyle Drameh and Hugill was good business and we were never going down after they came in.
If we could sign them now we would stay up.
We cant though so are in the brown stuff.

One person might see that as luck, another as justice.
Those clubs paid the price for mismanagement. That's what the penalties are there for. Virtually all of those clubs would have known it was coming. We just benefitted.
