Most of what you said, I agree with.
However, on Monday we will be playing a team that has ex City players playing, who are middling to lower Championship standard/ top end League 1.
If we don’t beat them, there is a good chance that next season all of our players will indeed be League 1 players.

And they were near the bottom of the table, losing 2-0 to Burton Albion and getting comfortably beaten (to nil) by the usual Championship suspects such as QPR, Derby and Preston.

That’s right. But they are currently Championship players and some have been Premier League players in the past. It’s a funny old game, etc.

Not bad in the middle for good spells, terrible in both boxes again, conceded two sloppy goals from mistakes and a bit of luck on their first, in their box too many touches and failed to get the shots off, the script for so many games this season. Alves, O'Dowda did quite well; the rest struggled.

We have got a few more chances, Oxford has a far inferior team, but can we beat them with Omer, I doubt it.

Well they are six points superior at the moment and I didn't see anything from yesterday's game to suspect we will reduce that come 5pm Monday

Last night's result wasn't great for City. Oxford's goal difference is the only one out of the sides above the dotted line that we could theoretically better (especially as we play them), so a 1-0 defeat to the best team in the division wasn't ideal. Oxford conceded five goals in their two games against Leeds. We conceded nine. That may yet prove significant.

Unsure what logic you are using.
Oxford has a 'team' with a relatively decent manager.
One or two of that team could be playing in the PL next season ... probably for one of the promoted teams.
The only thing you could say is that Oxford have a far inferior ground.

The players you refer to are arguably playing better now than they were in a Cardiff shirt ... particularly with respect to Ciaron Brown and Mark Harris. Some others in Oxford's team are far better, performance wise, than what we have ... for instance Placheta & Helik.
With up to 4 ex-bluebirds returning to prove a point on Monday, I suspect that it will be a tough game against the far inferior opposition that North Cardiff Blue refers to.

I agree as regards Brown, but he's out injured.
As for Harris, he's scored just two goals in his last 39 Championship appearances (one of which was against us). So he's no different to how he was when he was here.

All about opinions, but I think their playing squad is inferior on paper, on grass, and with a much more experienced Manager, they are currently superior.

They will give us a tough game, they will play as a team and make things difficult, but if we can't beat them with home advantage, we deserve to go down.

Harris will score again on Monday. Set up by Placheta as he will find space down our flanks. And a Vaulks long throw will assist a second goal for Oxford.
I've already prepared myself for it, so I'm not disappointed when it happens

and yet last season he scored 15 in the league and 19 in all competitions.
if we can expect a similar uplift in performance by dropping down a league across the board then we would do very well

Indeed, and yet some people seem to believe all of the current squad would be doomed in League One.

It's hard to say anyone is looking forward to league 1 BUT when you think Mark Harris scored 19 goals last season it's entirely possible to believe a front line of salech colwill davies Ashford maybe robinson or Alves could have some fun in league 1.

Alves will be nowhere near this club next season regardless of what division we're in.
