Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Part of me thinks we don’t need another midfielder, but we haven’t really got a box to box one apart from Joel Colwill - I assume we’re talking a loan?

Wintle is a weird one, I don't think he's shit I just think he looks shit for us because he doesn't really fit in.
One of them that would probably look good against us if we let him go.
Should be a squad player for us imo, on for the last 20 etc. He doesn't affect games enough, bit of a water carrier if you like.
Even now I'd put Joel Colwill ahead of him.

Wintle is an excellent player but its crystal clear Bulut is going for pace down the flanks this year if we need to or at least gives us another option which we didn't have last season
If we can get O'dowda and Ramsey flying this season I think Wintle first team appearances will be limited barring we have a mass of injuries again
agree about Colwill would like to see him feature alot more this season if he don't get loaned out

We need pace, big time. Although not sure what that has to do with Wintle.
Wintle is one of them "tidy" players. Probably a victim of systems/tactics.
I still don't know why we signed the players we did last year looking at what he is trying to sign this year. We wanted pace and a player to beat a man? So why did the club sign bowler?
Probably time for a clean slate, what's done is done etc. Will judge on how we do in the new season.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Now is the Wintle of our discontent.....

It's obvious that we signed what we could to get bodies through the door. The transfer embargo and lack of funds limited us massively and it's likely we took Bowler as we needed a winger and couldn't get better without spending a bit of money either through loans or transfer in January.
Same with our striker issues.

I hope he doesn’t get loaned out, he has far more potential and talent than Wintle.
I struggle to see what Wintle adds other than he runs around a lot 🤷*♂️
If we are serious with the aim of a top 6 finish, we need better players than Wintle, Turnbull etc in midfield

Forgive me if I am wrong here, I'm probably wrong more than I'm right in footballing matters to be fair, but surely if what we wanted was pacy a player to beat a man you STILL get that mould of player in just a lesser quality? "If" he has a certain way he wants to play, surely you still recruit the type of player you want just not as good, and upgrade as you are able to? What sense does it make to just fit bums on seats? I think people need to stop making excuses for him.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Whilst they are not wrong in their description, why do newspapers insist on sensationalising everything? "International midfielder' is dressing it up a bit https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...-city-29560338

I picked up on that as well. Maybe more than just Rino going? Midfield is in desperate need of an overhaul, both age wise and skillset.

I see the report also omits the fact that Robertson got a really bad hamstring injury in the first week of January. It required an operation and he didn’t play for Pompey again.
You’d have imagined that would be key information, but Walesonline obviously didn’t think so. Sounds like he was doing well before that.

Hmmm theres always something.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Seems like it was a bad one, but on the plus side it appears he was impressing before it happened:

Robertson quote from The News (Portsmouth), date May 2024:
'‘They grade hamstrings using 1C, 2C, 3C and 4C, with different numbers reflecting the different levels of the tear. Mine was a 4C, the worst one, similar to Tino’s.
‘I’ve had a lot of injuries since I was younger, so I kind of know how to deal with them and get over them. But nothing had been this bad. I couldn’t get out of bed for weeks, was unable to move, dependent on someone doing something for me all the time".
"I’ve now been back training on the pitch for two-and-a-half months and feel brilliant. I’m getting back to my old self, but I just need to get a bit fitter.
‘With no matches now, I have a month or two to get back fully, fully fit for pre-season with City. There’s so much time to be able to get back to where I was before and I’m sure I’ll be fine.’

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
From Darren Witcoop on Twitter.
Crystal Palace’s teenage midfielder David Ozoh is being tracked by a number of clubs this month. Luton and Plymouth have registered their interest while Cardiff and Derby are also tracking Ozoh in view of a loan deal.
This adds another layer to the rumours.

If we sign this lad, given the young talented midfielders we have, we might as well close our academy.
Joel Colwill has been, again, so bright and impressive in preseason. He is 6 months older than Ozoh

He looked a top player a couple of seasons ago. I'm not sure what has happened in the meantime

Admire the club being frugal, but if this is what we are looking at I'd much prefer us to use players like Isak Davies and Ashford in attack. I get he's free and he had something about him once upon a time but these players just come in and block the way for our own.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
Villa have bought Philogene from Hull for £18m*, a year after selling him to them for £5m!
*£13m after the sell on clause

Bad knee injury sustained while playing against City in December 2020 put him out for ten months. Hasn't really looked the same player since by all accounts.

Highly rated by the Birmingham fans last season.

Re: The Transfer Window Rumours thread
It was more than a week ago that a third signing (with more to follow soon) was imminent.
Bulut seemed to confirm that too.
Not a squeak since.
Fallen through? Stalled? Gazumped? Nothing was ever imminent? Wishful thinking?
Has Bulut continued with his mastery of 'overpromise - under-deliver'
Most of the links in recent weeks have been with UK players too - nothing I have seen mentions Turkey, Greece or Germany.
'Please Santa, can we have a striker this summer?'

I think if we really are in for the likes of Campbell and Stansfield, we’re on to plan B, at least, when it comes to strikers.

Plan A was probably Kieffer Moore. Again.

Leicester City have completed the signing of right winger Matías Soulé freeing up Kasey McAteer to move to Cardiff City next week.

Anyone calling themselves inside ccfc knows nothing I'm sure.
Not even the transfer committee base themselves at the club.
