I’m sure we’d be open to the possibility of selling anyone for the right price.
There’s very few players that have given a reason to keep them and when you’re in league one, you’re a selling club.
Had high expectations for chambers who hasn’t hit the mark

We hardly played Chambers as a DM, the role that he was player of the season for Fulham in the Premier League.

we played Chambers 15 times as a DM. and 24 times as a CB
in the 2018/19 season when he went on loan to Fulham he played 21 times as a DM and 10 at CB.
that's 6 more games as a DM one season, 6 seasons earlier

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
Chambers was better as a DM which wasn't difficult as hes as bad as CB we've had since we got back to the Championship.
If we can move him on for free then do it.
Id prefer Wintle over him and maybe Eli King can claim the role. Ideally a new player in the role. But it seems unlikely we will be making the moves in the market we need if we are going to make a push for the play offs.

Chambers is better than the other 2 mentioned.

If that's your opinion fair enough.

He's also probably on far more money.
Chambers was indicative of many of our signings last year - looked great on paper but didn't work out at all, other than 5 or 6 decent performances in midfield.
I couldn't care less if he left but then that's the case for pretty much the entire squad.

20% sell on clause, £12m to Luton, £3m to City. Pigs fly.

How much did we pay for him?

Claims that we (and Crawley and Walsall) have triggered the release clause for Flint Town Utd's young centre back Isaac Lee.

Seems to be good on the ball, but might struggle a bit with game-sense in a different environment (it's just weird for me to see defenders go that far up the pitch themselves). Seems like a cheap investment though that has the potential to be a great signing, so I'm open to it.

Chambers is a very poor DM, he can't play at all. He looks exactly like a centre half playing there.

But he doesn't look like a centre half when he plays as one.

He'll be very, very good next season in my opinion.
Rumours Willock is close to leaving and the club are trying to sell Daland (probably off the back of their non involvement vs Southend)

yeah there are a lot of websites to fill and not enough news stories to fill them with at this time of year so there's a lot of 2+2=5 going on

Rumours are that we’re trying to sell Horvath, Tanner, NG, Robinson, Robertson, Tsunoda, Willock & Daland, did I miss anyone?

Cheeky bid from Peter Ridsdale to try and get Robinson back to Preston?
Has anyone actually explained what the NG injury is to keep NG out for an estimated 5 weeks?

We should keep Robertson and I don't really see the point of getting rid of Tanner, don't think we'll fetch much for him.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
WOL ****ing useless:
“Speaking during the club's pre-season tour last week, Barry-Murphy outlined his transfer priorities — and made it clear that any incoming signings must significantly raise the standard of the first XI. “Quantity over quality” was the message, a nod to a summer that might not be busy in volume, but must be impactful if Cardiff are to mount a serious promotion push.“

A bit harsh, going on previous seasons they would be spot on.

One of the objectives of the new Independent Football Regulator is "to protect and promote the financial resilience of English football as a whole, ensuring that systemic risks and structural issues like the distribution of revenue through the pyramid are managed appropriately", the poaching of young players by bigger clubs from smaller clubs is something he should look at. Clubs losing players they've developed should be properly compensated at the time, and maybe there should be a compulsory minimum % sell-on clause rule.

every successive rule change has conceded more power to the big clubs to counteract the threat of them forming a breakaway league.
As such the FA aren't really equipped to do much for the smaller clubs. It would take a government to redress the balance IMO.

The FA are behind it, they want players at "elite" clubs.

Re: The Transfer Rumour Thread
If Cardiff were to give the player a professional contract, does this mean that he can't be poached for a pittance, as at present?
