Have you ever heard of false equivalency?

I’m sorry but all this is utter bollocks. It’s like a Daily express story created by a bot that’s been reading the express for a year.
The phrases in it are so textbook it’s painful.

Speaking of lining pockets, why do you think Rees-Mogg, Farage and others are so desperate to leave?

95% of the times the UK has used it's vetoing powers in Europe has been to oppose the closing of tax loopholes, so we can remain the money laundering venue of choice.
I have even less faith that a UK government of any colour will match the EU infrastructure spending in wales
Like I said, your fellow citizens haven't got a clue how to organise themselves, and keep on voting like lemmings for Labour or Conservative. And now the solution to this ineptitude is to give away power to Europe?

He wanted to unite the German speaking nations and then expand eastwards for additional room for the "superior" Germanic people. Any non German people living there (Russians, poles, Slavs, Jews, etc) would have been deported or murdered.
How is that in any way like the EU?

Re: Stay in the EU petition
It’s weird to me that the word beaurocracy has become such a dirty word. When the media moan about that they’re normally talking about thing a like food standards, health and safety, human rights etc which have all for the most part been great for the citizens of the U.K.

What human rights? They beat people up in France and Spain who dare to protest!

Having lived in France they’d have to have 60 million police on the streets every day of the year if they weren’t respecting people’s rights to protest.
If you trust a Tory government with your human rights more even after what they’ve done to legal aid more fool you.
Again for the slow, no one is saying the EU is perfect or infaliable.

For the people complaining that the U.K. can’t make its own laws the porn ban that’s coming in next month is entirely dreamt up and implemented by the U.K.

You won't have to trust Labour or Conservative if you don't vote for them! It's just bizarre that people need Europe to solve a problem, when a simpler solution exists right in front of your nose.

I take an great interest in German culture and history, have lived in Germany, visit frequently visited over the last 40 years and occasionally watch/listen/read German media. They have been one of the major driving forces of the EU predominantly because they want to avoid their own sins of the past as well as other conflicts that have scarred Europe over the last few centuries.

Somebody is pulling Merkel's strings, cos it wasn't her idea to open up Europe's borders.

Re: Stay in the EU petition
Labour and Conservative have been in power since before universal suffrage, but don't worry because Gluey has the answer. All we need is for everyone to stop voting for them.
Simple as that. We're lucky to have a genius on this board.

It doesn’t matter if I don’t vote for them everyone else is and it will never change.
I already think the pm has too much power, giving them even more seems nuts.

This board is so left wing.
This thread should have been moved to the Politics board days ago.
Come on Mike man up from The Slovenian countryside.

Re: Stay in the EU petition
I would be happy for another referendum personally. I would still vote leave tomorrow and I think honestly so did all those that voted leave first time round.

So you think that George Soros is secretly in control of the EU and can tell Angela Merkel what to do?

1. What’s wrong with being left wing?
2. How can you say this board is left wing?!
3. Why does this have to be moved, no one is forcing you to click on it

I'm sure some American politicians would have been in the loop, it's not like anybody works alone at this level.

Also because it seems less anti-Semitic somehow if you add a sprinkling of non specific American politicians to your conspiracy theory right?

You are the only person who is talking about religion, I don't believe anybody else has mentioned it. The OFS is a large organisation made up of many nationalities, and they also have ties to the Democratic Party.

I’m not saying it’s a good or bad idea I’m saying those saying the U.K. can’t make its own laws are wrong.

Re: Stay in the EU petition
I think it's more realistic than calling for a people's vote for the following reasons:
- I don't see how there can be strong evidence of criminal activity within the first EU referendum and strong suggestion of external interference and then a second referendum be the best outcome with no changes to our laws to protect the political process
- It gives the UK greater time to consider what it actually wants and implement the systems required to process a Brexit or otherwise allows the UK time to try and reform the EU more effectively
- In 5 years time the chance to leave the EU may be the best choice and rather than feckin' it up with characters like Boris, Mogg and Farage who don't really believe in it you could end up with politicians who believe it's best way to support all people of the UK.

I think that’s the thing, whilst I think remaining is better for the country leaving under a well thought out deal could have worked. Unfortunately we’ve got the most incompetent and narcissistic idiots ever in power.

I don't mind either way. My kids have got 2nd passports outside of the EU if it all goes pear-shaped, which it will do at some point as that is how all socialist experiments eventually end up.

They are not incompetent, they are following a plan and doing what they are supposed to doing. You are the incompetent one if you can't see that.
