How does the pitch play so differently for run scoring compared to last home match??
Strange about the pitch, there's been thirteen lbws so far in this game and eighteen against Sussex which to me suggests low bounce,. The pitch looks a bit green, but I think what's happened in this match is more to do with the overhead conditions - if Glamorgan had bowled half as well as they've done here in the second innings at Northampton, we probably wouldn't have lost there.
Lloyd finishes it with a six, Glamorgan win by ten wickets with two days to spare!
Glamorgan win by 10 wickets first win of the season
Glammy won by 10 wickets.
Sorry - posted above.
Lovely stuff! Nice to get a positive result for the endeavour this season so far in the long form. Despite the two losses the performances have been encouraging by and large. On to old Trafford.
Absolutely agree.
Outplayed Yorkshire and the weather saved our opponents.
On top for most of the Northants game.
Outplayed and beat Kent.
We were outplayed by Sussex but even then the game went into the final hour on day four. Sussex are the only other division two side in our group so overall very encouraging.
Is it me or is David Lloyd bowling with a bit more pace this season?
Wow.
I just logged on to see the score. Wasnt expecting to see a result! Reminded me of one of England's recent tests in India.
Oh Glammy Glammy .......🏏
What a victory!!! Absolutely fantastic!
Was it just me, or did anyone else not want to get to excited even when chasing 16. There was a little voice in the back of my head reminding me that this was glamorgan doing the chasing 🤣. I think it was 12-0 when I finally felt we were going to win!
If we can beat Lancs next week we are right in contention at the top
I was confident of chasing 16 .... anything over 50 though and I would have been nervous ..... I remember watching them get bowled out for 31 at Cardiff (v Middlesex) ironically in the championship winning season in 1997
I mentioned after the Northants game that maybe it's the old story of Glammy being able to get runs but struggling to bowl sides out twice.
I guess the best way to quash that notion is to take twenty wickets the very next game.
Inside two days too!
Well done to "old man" Hogan, leading from the front.
Great support from van der gugten and Lloyd also.
I’m sure someone on here will have the answer instantly, but when did Glam win by 10 wickets?
I’ve been checking through my old Wisdens and it was Northants (who we also beat by an innings in 2019) at home in 2015. There was a great stat someone contacted the commentators about today - James Harris has played in the last three Glamorgan victories in two days spread over a period of thirteen years.
Yeah that’s a great stat. Good to see him chipping in at the end. I presume that’s his two week loan over.
Shame Joe Cooke couldn’t get a run in the second innings. Pleasing to see some home grown players doing so well this season especially Lloyd and Carlson.
