I feel the same as Delmi regarding personal income vs the wellbeing of others.
I feel this mainly because whilst it might be a cause of worry, I feel like I should be able to get by for a few months , whether it be through dipping into savings, getting a loan, selling a guitar or applying for some sort of financial relief , if it’s available....maybe some temping ...whatever it takes, it will be temporary.
The other thing is thy of things get really bad, as someone in their late 30s , I might actually see friends, or older relatives ending up dying or becoming seriously ill. It won’t only be people in their 60s and 70s.
The severity of the situation is really starting to ramp up now in my part of northern spain and we are getting 70 odd cases a day and 15 or so deaths.
There are many people in ICU who are in their 40s and 50s and that is only going to get worse over the next few weeks....and that’s with us having been on a tottal lockdown since last Sunday.
I just don’t understand how cases are going up so much when the incubation period is around 5 days on average and everybody is at home. It seems like there is more to the transmission of this disease than just symptomatic people sneezing and coughing on others.
I tweeted last night that some true colours would be shown in the next few months and they won’t be a pretty shade.
I’ve already seen it in work, sadly from the owner and directors.
Had a stand up row with my boss, a director, yesterday and told him all he’s concerned about is preserving the cash of the multi millionaire owner (we have plenty in the bank, we are a cash rich business) and in 3 meetings over the course of the last week it’s all been about the owmer and not once has the welfare of the staff been mentioned or any measures taken apart from “wash your hands”.
This was before a 20% pay cut for the next 3 months was announced later in the day( but let’s be honest will be longer) which I’ll take on the chin and so did everyone in the company. In the grand scheme it’s **** all. There’s people trying to survive on 94 quid a week or less or for those workers paid cash in hand at pubs and restaurants will now be earning **** all.
I’ve been helping my elderly next door neighbour and got a shop in for a food bank earlier and it’s doing wonders for my mental health.
I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror after all this settles down.
You’re a good man  sounds like your bosses are a bunch of ***** though. A cash rich business should be fine through all this without cutting salaries.
Hopefully you get back to full pay quick enough.
Like you said many people have it worse.

I have lost so much faith in our population. There's just such a large amount of idiots who still think its okay to go clothes shopping, meet up with your mates at mcdonalds (yes, they're still allowing people to queue inside) or whatever other social gatherings that are going to end up killing thousands of our loved ones.
We are literally on the same trajectory as Italy, and will end up probably worse in terms of deaths due to us reacting slower to the problem. I have issues with my lungs so if I get it more than likely I will die, but people don't care about that. They don't care about their elders and the weak and vulnerable. They care about not being bored more.
We live in a very ugly society.
Stay inside and stay safe mate.
As you said we are on exactly the same trajectory as Italy.

Watch Andrew Marr this morning.
The NHS has serious shortages of doctors nurses protective clothing. The Asian countries seem to be on top the virus better than us.
We should be home lock down now.
This is ****ing serious.
Organ Morgan has been very quiet. Has he quarantined himself in the politics forum where questions don’t get asked?
What I don't get is Italy has been on lockdown for 2 weeks or more and yet cases are increasing. How could this be? Can't be from people just going to the supermarket.
Got a similar nearby , apparently they are struggling as one is self employed , others though in famiky working guaranteed good pay thorough high end positions , two cars, mortgage free , savings anyway we are aware of them , they love what capitalism has delivered lol
Personal responsibility is key ,but folk are selfish, had to go for petrol yesterday cars ramed into Asda , and petrol station ,as long as the fit and young are healthy feck the rest , we have 30 petrol weeks with of food .
I might be wrong they maybe all shopping for the vulnerable and key health workers or stripping shelves for selfies reasons ???
I haven't been able to purchase a toilet roll for a week as I refused to bulk buy thinking others would follow 🤔
Fecking governments fault or this colour one 🤫
Incredible.

Deaths more than double in a day in Wales as well - 5 in Newport;-

I don't normally go for these sort of things but it does feel as though the Earth is fighting back.
You idiots can't even buy toilet roll responsibly so I going to ht the resest button and start again. Pollution down etc Earth 1 - Numpties 0.
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/#countries these are scary figures.
Again, incredible;-

On the contrary, it's entirely predictable.
A large percentage of the people in this country are ignorant, arrogant, selfish or just plain stupid. That's always been the case, although the percentage does seem to have been on the rise in recent decades, but maybe the advent of social media has simply highlighted the situation.
I admire your faith in the UK population if you believe these stories are incredible.
I live by Colombia road flower market and it’s actually open today. Only around 20% of the usual crowd but there are so many people crammed into a tiny street. Cannot get over what these people are thinking.
Signs have been put up in Bala telling visitors to stay away.
Attachment 3623
I volunteered to be a local co-ordinator in leafletting people in my street and being on standby if they go down with the virus and need shopping etc. However, the I observed the first volunteers not thinking anything of being a huddle around a table when collecting the leaflets!
Ive just come back from a long walk around the country park where i live.
Came across a waitress I know who is now unemployed.
She would have seen the same as me a touring campervan taking over part of
a car park with what looked a couple of families sat around on deck chairs eating and drinking. Play areas with children and also adults on swings slides and climbing frames.
Im all in favour of people going out for walks but surely we should be closing access to cars and camper feckin vans , closing play areas etc.
Im sure this is the same all over the country.
On the other board there is a thread about how well Boris is doing. Someone actually questioned those giving him a poor rating asking what more he could do.!!!!! Unbelievable.
This by the head of a visiting Chinese Red Cross delegation visiting Italy suggests that parts of Italy are having the same problems with people not adhering to the advice as here, and look where that's got them

They've shut the virus down in Wuhan because people were told to stay in and f**king listened. Or had to. Time to take the choice away here
Sadiq Khan was on the Andrew Marr show earlier and highlighted the fact that the "well to do" in London were slipping off on hols or their second homes thus increasing the spread.
They discussed whether there should be measures put in place to stop this.
Lockdown can't be far away surely.
I listened to a podcast earlier where somone in France said the night before their lockdown everyone flocked to the pubs for one final blow-out, and now everyone is crowding their national parks.
Seems familiar.
I fear for the US (where I live).
Some people are taking this seriously but many are not. Here's one example. Last week the mayor of Phoenix closed down all the bars and restaurants so what did the idiots do? They all Ubered across the metro area to the city next door where the bars/restaurants were still open. Here's another example. I live in a co-op and the older folks have decided to do a communal jigsaw puzzle to pass the time. You couldn't make it up.
There are too many people here who slavishly watch Fox News. I walk my dog regularly around my neighbourhood and talk to people as we go. Twice in the last week I came across elderly people who thought it was "made up" and "nothing to worry about".
I cannot see a lockdown in the US (certainly not outside of California and the north east) happening. I hope people will accept it but I fear the conspiracy contrarians will not. If they put troops on the streets I fear we'll see armed conflicts flare up.
It’s mad that 2 weeks ago Fox News was calling it a hoax and an over reaction. To me how anyone can try and politicise a virus is beyond me.
Stay safe, I fear the US will be hit quite hard.
Statements like this from the president don't help reassure anyone that he has a grasp on what might happen. The US is the absolute last place I'd want to be living right now (sorry az and nycblue). Mass illness and death, production and supplies shortage, citizens with guns, it's a horrible mix.

21 year old with no other illness dies from covid 19. This is particularly worrying-
“ A report from the United States' Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found 20% of those who had to be in hospital after contracting coronavirus were aged 20-44-years-old and 18% were 45-54-years-old.
Of those admitted to intensive care, 12% were in the younger age bracket while 36% were in the 45-54-year-old range.
"Clinicians who care for adults should be aware that COVID-19 can result in severe disease among persons of all ages," said the report, published on 18 March.”
