Kellaway is a terrific prospect but he needs to curb his attacking instincts.
Thank god smale is out. Was sweating a bit with him there, should finish them off now hopefully. No more collapses please

Very disappointing. Only way Surrey should have been able to win this was lots of quick wickets. To be choked out, especially after the fast start is not good. Smale and Ingram have to take the blame for that.
Still in the balance but Surrey got too much for me

We are blowing this. I didn't understand Kellaway for the second game running. Plenty of runs off the over and then he charged down the wicket and holed out.
Cooke out. We will lose a game we should have won
Glammy were mugged by a smarter team and showed their naivety.
Disappointing to throw that one away last night.
On the plus side, the bowling and fielding were excellent in both games. Really impressed.
Concerns over the top/middle batting order though. Even in the first game we looked on the verge of crumbling before Douthwaite and Tribe managed to put a partnership together.
Given his T20 record I do wonder if Northeast should come back in. Commentators suggesting he's not the kind of person to enjoy being rested.
I'm torn on Northeast coming back. The 'career' Northeast should be first name on our team sheet, the Northeast that has played T20 for Glamorgan can stay well away though! I think my change for next game would be Sam for Smale, get Tribe up top with Sam down at 5 or 6.Quote:

I remember last year’s game going the same way. Looked on course then their far better bowling attack putting us out of the game. That and dreadful catching which has greatly improved apart from a key drop last night. All fine margins. A bit of sense in the batting would have won that game.
Hopefully that game is a good kick up the backside and will turn into a positive. We shouldn't be scared of anyone, but we need to take a look at ourselves and how we go about the game. Essex at home next, a very winnable game!
Some good posts here. It's funny FJB should bring Northeast up, I was wondering about whether he should have played too. As soon as Smale was out I thought 'what would Chrisp have said if Northeast had taken 10 overs to get 26'. I dread to think.Quote:

Our top order batting has been unreliable in T20 games so far. We were something like 95-8 in the friendly against Wiltshire before Leonard got forty odd late on and we looked like throwing the game away against Middlesex for a while - last night was a bit different as our openers got decent scores, but what followed didn’t offer much - for me, we look too inexperienced in the top six and I’d play Northeast who allowed people to play around him so to speak pretty effectively last season.
Truth is though, Surrey have such strength in depth they should beat us seven times in ten in any format.

Last night was a big disappointment. At half time I thought we’d win. Interesting reading the thread that no one has mentioned Ingram. I agreed with the choice of not picking Ingram and SN, on the basis that we don’t need the experience of both and if one was to miss it should be SN. Part of the problem with the 2 innings thus far has been that Ingram has simply not turned up. Do we really need them both?
Both Cooke and Ingram are big players for us and both have been scratchy to date. I don't like the batting order at all. Too much pressure on Kellaway. I would go with the following.Quote:

Agree - really positive and well managed chase. Such a good bounce back after Surrey. And that’s the frustration - as good as last nights chase was what a chance wasted on wed as that chase was equally bad. Onwards and upwards. Big game coming up v a good Sussex side next.
A very good chase after messing up in the week, yes. It probably helped that rain was forecast, they had to be positive from the start to keep ahead on Duckworth-Lewis and they kept that momentum going for the whole innings.Quote:

Entertaining game and a good win. There wasn't a big crowd there but it's always a nice buzz walking out of a stadium after a win. I can still remember that feeling from City games although I'm probably showing my age a bit there.

I thought we did well to pull them back , but then bringing Douthwaite back on just gave them all their momentum back. Going along ok so far in the chase, think Carlson owes us some quick runs !

Well that was very disappointing. On the positive side Timm bowled well again, he's having a great season. Not sure what happened with Smale, looked in good nick then suddenly couldn't lay bat on ball, his dismissal to a slow full toss has to be seen. Hopefully beat Essex in the week to get back on track
Quite a game going on at Lords for the World Test Championship- just past tea on the second day and it’s Australia 212 and 73-7 against South Africa 138.
Great so far from glammy. Set up well by the top order. Lost wickets in a club and I got a bit worried, but Cooke stayed positive and kept us ticking, then Douthwaite and timm finished us off well. Good start to the bowling innings, got essex 3 down.
I think this would be a huge win if we can finish it off. Essex have been rubbish, but they are a good side on paper. Big we can beat them, followed by them hitting a hot streak it would be huge for our chances.
Timm goes under the radar a bit . But his all round game the last 2 years has been insane. Probably not a better domestic T20 player around
Why did he just give Gorvin a 2nd over?
