Yes Middlesex have no chance unless both sides fiddle with their declarations and Lancashire collapse dramatically in their second innings!!!!

Lancs have declared, 164 ahead.
Cracking finish at oval. Surrey need 40 odd, notts need 3 wickets. 1 pt between them at top. Lawrence on 50 out.
One wicket needed with thirty four needed - Tongue bowling genuinely quickly.
Apparently Worrall has had to borrow Ollie Pope's bat!
Notts look like they’ve just won the Championship.
PROMOTED 🙂
Didn't see that coming after the dreadful first 3 matches.
Very true. Promoted with a game to spare. Fantastic achievement. To top it off, some youngsters have really played a huge part. Kellaway and Tribe with mountains of runs. Young captain Carlson scoring a ton of runs aswell. I hope we've got Ingram coming back next year again, average 60 this season. Ridiculous 2 years he's put together
I know Glammy have won a couple of one day competitions in recent times but I think this is a much more significant achievement. A brilliant turnaround from the dire form in April.
Great to see two young uns doing so well and a fitting end to Northeast's captaincy. He will be missed.
Well done Glammy.
So many reasons why we went up, but one of the most important ones was winning three games in Cardiff - I’ve not checked, but I reckon it must have taken something like four years for us to win three at home before this season.
Assuming we do get to play in something like this season’s Division One, I hope we look to get two quick bowlers in and I think we need a replacement for Northeast who is more of a four day player than Dickson is. I suppose a question that needs to be addressed is do we continue our association with Labuschagne? Maybe it would be best to wait and see how he goes in the Australian season?
I said back in April/May we'd struggle to win a game this season, we really did look that bad. Dawson deserves huge credit for whatever he said to them after the first Derbyshire match.
We definitely need to overhaul the seam unit for next season though, and ul Hassan surely can't continue as an opener.
20+ wickets for 5 different bowlers plus mason crane with 19. Hope we can get fernando back next year. Solid runs spread across top 6 - most of them! A great team effort. And don’t forget the unknown Aussie spinner who rocked up took 6 in the 2nd innings v midd and then promptly left again!! Well done Richard Dawson.
I remember reading that Ingram could qualify as domestic through residency but would need to become an overseas player in the South African T20 competition. Not sure if there is any truth to that but if so I would be pushing for him to do that, then means we can sign Marnus (if he is available for 75+% of the season) and an overseas opening bowler. If that isnt true then we need a bowler more than we need an overseas replacement for Northeast.
I feel for Zain but no we can't afford to start the season with him opening. He has fallen into that familiar unfortunate spot where he would likely have scored more runs at 8 and have better stats to back up his claim for a place in the team. He actually looked like he had made some progress with the bat at the beginning of the season but it has gradually drifted into a disaster.
Its such a strange evolution, we have gone from being a team with a terribly performing top 6 and a strong looking bowling unit, to the complete opposite. Having said that, I was going through the averages earlier today and the attack did enough this season as a group to win games so deserves credit for that, it just doesn't look good enough for Div 1 to me.
Yes, coming up to the start of the season, I was expecting Ingram to be classed as a domestic player. That was what was being reported and I’ve not seen why it didn’t turn out to be the case - your explanation sounds like it could be right, but my impression was that Ingram wanted to be classed as a domestic player, but there was something in the rules that prevented it.
I’d keep Ingram even if he has to stay as an overseas player because he strikes me as being a much better four day player than he was when he first signed for us - there is evidence of decline through age in his white ball batting, but not yet in his red.
If I had to make a decision on Labuschagne today, I’d reluctantly say thanks for your great commitment to us down the years, but we’re going to move on to someone else now, but, as I mentioned. I’d prefer to wait and see how he does in the coming Australian season.
Would you retain Fernando if he was willing to return for next season? I’m not sure I would, but I’d prefer him to DeLange who has been mentioned as a possible target of ours.
I’d like us to sign an opening batsman, plus a seamer who were both domestically qualified - although a lot of the better out of contract players have been signed by other clubs already, we’re a more attractive proposition today than we were twenty four hours ago and I’d be looking to take advantage of that.
