I reckon it’s another winger.

Could be. Do you rate Gavin Whyte Bob?
For me it's the obvious final ball problem, which is of course significant enough to consider other options.

Don’t think he’s a Championship standard player, but I’m basing that on what we saw of him in his first season. He’s clearly a good player in League One and I think he’s at an age now where that could be the level for him through his career.

I think it's his age that does it for me too.
If he was younger then maybe you could have hope in him developing his ability to cross higher balls into the box, but as we both know, if you don't have that at this stage then it's unlikely to improve.
I do like him as a player, he works hard, has pace, and is a bit tricky. His end product is very inconstant though so I'm starting to think maybe move him on if we can get better.

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
My cousin supports Charlton, apparently someone on their forum mentioned Dobson was seen in a city training top the other day.
Decent player for them but seems weird why he would be in a city training top around his current club and he's a cm.
I'm suspecting it was someone that thought it looked like city training gear.
But just mentioning so I can look itk if it happens.

Kadeem Harries has joined Samsunspor in Turkey this week on a permanent deal (was on loan with them from April) - after he was forced to leave Kharkiv because of the Russian invasion.

KVO has strengthened itself with goalkeeper @Dillon_Phillips (27).
🇬🇧 The Englishman comes over on a rental basis from @CardiffCityFC . KVO also stipulated a purchase option.

Makes sense. He wasn't likely to get any game time with us.

I don't understand the line about a purchase agreement. Isn't Phillips out of contract next summer - at the end of this loan deal?

Great bit of business if they've agreed to pay us for him even if he's out of contract 😀

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
No rumours around it but I've just read Matej Vydra was released by Burnley yesterday.
I think he's injured until the end of the year but at 30 he's still got a few years at his peak. Slim chance of him coming here but he'd improve us no end up top.

He scored 21 league goals in his last championship season 4 years ago and since then has played in and out of a struggling Burnley team. He’s head and shoulders above our current options.

He was absolutely lethal... at one time.

Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
Vydra would be a bit of a risk but might be one worth taking I reckon.
I remember him being very good, albeit a while ago.

Might have an option to extend. Morison said Moore did, Bacuna and Vaulks did too and we didn't exercise it.

He did his ACL in April.

Thought he would be starting the season as first choice. Had a few moments but is 21 and played almost every match last season from September.

Good move for everyone. He's decent but he won't play here and is going to a proper club, and will get good experience. Hopefully he'll come back a better player.

McGuinness might be on a 24 hour call back or similar clause, Nelson just needs to find his level in Div 1
With both gone we still have 4 who are competing for 2 spots

I wouldn’t. For months we’ve been told the club will need to cut costs this season, so carrying five centre backs (if that’s where Morison is planning to continue to use Ng) is excessive.
Also if Collins’ injury does turn out to be a bad one, the manager will probably need to bring in more cover at left-back.

Don’t think you can do that these days.
-
Re: Bluebirds transfer rumours
All in the last year of their contracts I believe apart from McGuinness.
Think this is trying to get some out before bringing at least one more in.

Just checked the EFL regulations. Players can only be loaned for half a season or a full season. An early recall clause can only be inserted into full-season loan contracts, and can be activated during the Winter transfer window only.

Would have expected Denham to be one of the ones loaned out but sounds like he could be staying.

I hadn't realised that, 👍
