I would be surprised to see him ditch his two holding midfielders.

I'd be happy with that, but Diedhiou for Etete.
I suspect only one of Colwill and Turnbull will start though.

(Try the correct thread this time) Too soon for Ramsey, I'm sure, plus I doubt he'd play there, but it's what I'd like to see.

Turnbull is a number 10 isn't he? I don't think we'll see him in a DM role.

According to Bulut - and to Turnbull - he is a 6 an 8 or a 10. Very versatile boy.
FWIW I don't think he will be used as a DM either. I was just putting up a team that (in my opinion) used all of our best available players.
Since then Bulut has cast doubt on McGuinness' fitness so i expect four at the back as usual (maybe with Phillips coming in). If he doesn't use wing backs he won't/can't play with two 10s.
It will probably be the usual 4 - 2 - 3 - 1
Alnwick
Ng - Goutas - McGuinness/Phillips - Collins
Siopis - Ralls/Wintle
Bowler - Colwill - Grant
Diedhiou

Alnwick; Ng, Phillips, Goutas, Collins; Siopis, Wintle; Bowler, Turnbull, Grant; Etete.
Subs: Horvath, Romeo, Ralls, Ramsey, Diedhiou, Meite, Colwill, Wilson-Esbrand, Tanner.
Harsh on Colwill, but Bulut was always going to go with 2 defensive midfielders. Etete ahead of Diedhiou?
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Changes as expected, but very harsh on Colwill.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
For the life of me I can't understand why he's dropped Colwill.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Very defensive for a home game
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Stronger looking bench now though...
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Don't understand dropping Colwill. Only thought is he wants to play Turnbull and doesn't think they can play together. Disappointing

One scrappy win at home since end of October…..jeez….that’s entertainment eh?

Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
We're moving it around okay, but we never look threatening.

Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Poor goal. Turnbull knowing NG is ahead of him surely needs to do more to get back, a light jog isn’t enough.
-
Re: CARDIFF CITY v PRESTON NORTH END. Match thread
Goutas and Siopsis like fairies there....get some subs on now!!! Awful. New boys doing ok...must be wondering what they have some to....
