Re: 25 minute half times with entertainment?
There's so many 'What could make this a better experience for the fan' ideas that could be trialled. There's also loads of 'How can we increase the welfare of the players' ideas that also have been suggested.
Which ones do they seriously consider though? Just like Qatar it's the 'How can we generate more money from this' being investigated
Whether you back it or not, the commercialisation of football is only going one way

Nope, they'd still go down 5 minutes early so they didn't have to queue

Do you know anyone who pays their £20 or whatever it is to get into a football match these days for the bits during the two hours when there’s no football being played? I don’t and yet these would appear to be the people this proposal is geared towards. All this is about is trying to increase bar and food takings through trying to get people to eat or drink more during the ever growing intervals when there’s no football being played.

I think they've seen the money generated by the TV audience for the Superbowl and thought that they want a bit of that. the advertising revenue during the half time show is astronomical and they want their crown jewel events to be similar.
so you turn it into.an event that will attract non football watchers. the people watching the game are already a captive audience.
Re: 25 minute half times with entertainment?
I only go down for the football I don't want any Americanising of the day. Half time is for a piss, especially in the cold weather

We need the return of the al fresco breeze-block pissoir.

More multi-millionaire footballers supporting minor teams financially. All credit to those who already do.

Methinks your answer is not a million miles from the truth there. When a corner takes 45 secs and 75 secs for a restart from a goal you know the product on display has nothing to do with the fans.

Surely the 75 seconds spent celebrating a goal is the best part of the match for a fan?

Re: 25 minute half times with entertainment?
I didn't go down last night as I seem to have reached an age, where I can't cope with getting home late, with work the next morning. Add another 15 minutes to half time and I doubt if I'll ever see a evening game again.
And without copying TOBW post in, evening games used to be 7.30 kick offs. I'd be much happier as an old git returning to that start time.
