Stephen Caulker just finished his punditry session on Sky and off to check his phone and speak to his agent.
Free and available and with a Turkish stamp in his passport!

Re: Will we get any MOORE?
These deals are done weeks in advance, if Moore is coming it’s already been done.
-
Re: Will we get any MOORE?
People saying Moore to Millwall.

Why would they be done weeks ago but only signed on deadline day?

Re: Will we get any MOORE?
Millwall to pay a loan fee so we are out

Why do you think , it’s all part of the drama.

I think you vastly over estimate the competence of many football clubs

Oh right of course, clubs want drama and not a settled preseason.

I’m trying to think of a word that is vaster than “vastly” :hehe:

Football clubs with millions of pounds turnover ,legal teams , medical professionals, media teams, high value assets , insurance companies…. I think you vastly underestimated the competence of many football clubs.
Panzo was unveiled this morning but is already in Ipswich and has had his initiation.
Probably done weeks ago.

You need to watch the Sunderland documentary

So you're saying that the clubs are happy to have squad upheaval four games into the season with deals they'd made weeks ago and players they could have had for the first game, just to give sky a single exciting day of TV?

I said weeks , not months in advance ,and as the transfer window is open a month after the season starts then I think it’s fairly obvious that upheaval is part of that process.
The transfer window is the issue ,it should shut before the start of the season.
I just don’t think clubs wait until “transfer deadline day” to make a £40m decision.

FAs are allowed to have up to 12 weeks in their transfer window. If the deadline was on the first day of the season, you'd either have to allow transfers at the end of the previous season, or have a shorter window in which to do all the transfers.
Btw, this season has been going for weeks, not months.

Last season Blackburn failed to sign Lewis O'Brien as they didn't send the paperwork over to the FA on time. Did they do that for drama?
Several football clubs have spent thousands if not millions of pounds bringing in injury prone players who end up in the physio's room

I’m not saying they are all done weeks in advance but most are and clubs can also use the “delayed paperwork” “ didn’t get it over the line” option as an excuse. Swansea have done this before from memory.

In fairness, your memory’s a bit dodgy.

If the deals can be done in a day why do you need 12 weeks then ?
