Re: Mark Drakeford to resign?
Not before time I think he and his team have been poor on several big issues and the 20 mph thing is a disaster
I think Rebecca Evans the finance minister would be a good shout
Eluned Morgan is hopeless which is a shame as her background and family roots suggested she would be good
Anything but the Tories and Plaid need to be kept as a junior partner in a coalition as they are nationalist nutters

Re: Mark Drakeford to resign?
He was interviewed only a few days ago and said he intended to resign at then end of 2024. He said the only thing that might make him go earlier was an early general election, to give the next man time to settle in.

This is an open goal for Plaid - Rhun did express doubts about 20mph around the time it was implemented. We could win the next election if we support/suggest an unbiased review.
Other Plaid members may disagree with my position but I think it's a no-brainer to seize this issue and run with it.
As for Drakeford, thankfully he has gone, and his successor will gladly pin all of the negative policies on Drakeford and hope for a clean slate. However, Gething and Baroness Schumacher are both damaged goods in the public eye, Waters is despised and Jeremy Miles is insipid. Labour may - hopefully - be finished for a while in the Senedd, especially if Starmer wins the GE. Even he's messing that up though with his praise of Thatcher.
God help us.
I'll join, Plaid it is, Wales needs a new direction, just tone down the Welsh Language stuff, at least until after the election:thumbup:

Probably something will come out, the same happened in Scotland.

Re: Mark Drakeford to resign?
Maybe we'll see the 20mph laws reversed, then get rid of all the cycle lanes, allowing traffic to move freely...
Perhaps not.

Re: Mark Drakeford to resign?
He's taken Wales back to the 18th century.
Christmas has come early...
Let's all have a disco

No one is dancing on his grave - as he has not died. I do remember when Thatcher died and certain posters on here said they would happily dance on her grave, which displays a rather warped mindset.
Baroness Glennys Kinnock died last week, and I think it showed a measure of a non warped mindset that did not mention graves or dancing on them from any poster on here.

Yes it's sad, but don't blame that on his party trying to save a future election outcome?
Um - have you seen any opinion polls in the last year?

It's like a YTS politician's CV, how the hell did he get to where he did?

I tihnk most people would like to see more politicians coming in with diverse backgrounds. It isn't healthy that so many study PPE at Oxford

Working with vulnerable kids , ex prisoners ?
That to me shows a level of compassion and the value of society
I think that's good
Now he's been poor since lockdown I would agree but his background is laudable
The leader of the conservatives in Wales is a farmer
As are several of his team
What does that bring to the table ?
What understanding do they have of the matters that concern many people ?
OK love , you get off to bed I am bringing the cows in the shed

I agree to a certain extent, but you need some qualities, and a level of competence, not just a social worker he comes across as dull as dishwater making top-level decisions that are clearly above their level of understanding and competence.

Not just a social worker ?
Highly trained people dealing with incredibly intense and stressful situations involving multi agency liason .....police , courts , health services , education
Or a fecking farmer ?

He was probably rubbish at that too, if you're poor at a job you get promoted or managed out, parking attendant-type job looks about right from what I've seen, just issue the ticket and no flexibility or competence needed.

Farmers aren't qualified either, it's not the job you've done previously it's the level of competence to do the job you get, although his CV looks unsuitable for high office.

Re: Mark Drakeford to resign?
Let's hope that Lee Waters doesn't have the post he's worse than Drakeford

Not really - stating you would jump on the grave of someone - not exactly a good mindset.
ps How many pits did Thatcher close down ?
