Relegation is always disappointing, promotion filled with trepidation for the following season. You just can't win. When the final whistle blow and we've got promotion I get depressed, thinking the worst. I think it happens at a lot of clubs.
I've been at a lot of games in the bad times, League crowds of just over 1000, a dilapidated ground and a club with no money and no direction. Contrast that with the last 17 years. A promotion to the second tier and a great day out at the National Stadium. Top of the second tier for a while in 2006/07, FA Cup Final, Play off miss in 2009, Blackpool 2010. Play Off semis in 2010, Play Offs again in 2011, League Cup Final 2012, Champions 2013, Relgation, doldrums, Promotion again, relegation. It's been a roller coaster but can we really complain.
We've not had any flair (Whittingham excepted) since the Dave Jones years. We are like a lot of other teams, trying to grind out a result and not lose. Thanks goodness for Mr Tan though and his money, most of which has been mis spent. Warnock and his crazy transfers and silly player's salaries.
I juts think it will come back to haunt us next season, no parachute payment, 4 loanees going, another 5 out of contract and we have a small squad already.
But and it's a huge BUT. We could get promoted. Even if it's not pretty to watch. Cardiff City will always surprise us in equal measure as letting us down.
