Re: Gareth Bale , Obscene Wages
So far this yea since January 2020, Jeff Bezos net worth increase has averaged $2.25 billion per week.
so Bale makes 0.012% a week of what Bezos does.
The most successful con in history by the elites is to have working class people, believing working class people who have done well for themselves is what is messed up about the world.

Re: Gareth Bale , Obscene Wages
Why should the big clubs help the small clubs ?
Why should the mega rich Gareth bale maybe donate a weeks wages , half a million quid to see league two clubs through a tough time ?
Why should we as cardiff fans be part of a football league that is competitive but has a small pot of money that helps a club that has been run badly to at least have some breathing space till the fans or new owners can keep the club going ?
I hate Swansea and when they beat Hull to stay up in the football league I was gutted as I wanted them in the conference for 5 years and us to rise up through the leagues and be the the dominant club in south wales like toshacks swansea were in the late seventies and early eighties
But I never wanted them to go out of business , when they nearly went to the wall with doug Sharpe as chairman and the petty business I sent my Jack mate from morriston 50 quid for the fighting fund
Is this what football is now ? Why should he , why should Liverpool help Oldham, its not our fault , they had a dodgy chairman !
Survival of the fittest ?
Football is about losing at home to the side bottom of the league then coming back from two nil down with ten men to win three two
Its about bumping into someone at a wedding or a party who has followed Stockport County since he was 6 or a fella who lives in torquay but travels to Hull 6 or 7 times a season as he grew up there , left for work at twenty but loves his club
If you have to justify the modern game or just say so what thats life then I have to say that you just don't get what society on a bigger level means
Brian Clough was what he called a football socialist , sure he spent money when forest became a big club but todays outrageous money in the game and the lack of redistribution to keep the football family together would have him turning in his grave .
I despair at what football has become
The book by David Conn, searching for the soul of football is many years old now but talked about the monster the premier league was coming
People should remember that hammam shafted Wimbledon and nearly killed us .
When it comes to looking after each other a lot of clubs when we were in and out of court wanted us buried and dead
People should remember that next time macclesfield or Chester or Hereford or Bury are in trouble and their fans are crying out for help from the rest of football
And a player meanwhile is on 600 thousand a week and the premier league pushes for bigger and bigger TV deals
Fight the power

i dont see the link to lower clubs who mainly dont run themselves well.
the fact you don't see the link shows that you don't get it
Do you realise cardiff city has been so badly run in the past by bad owners we have nearly been in the grave ?

poor old people freezing to death in the winter because of no money to pay for heating
And he's on 600 k a week
Its disgraceful

Re: Gareth Bale , Obscene Wages
I don't know why he can't be on 50k a week or even 100k and then the paying public wouldn't have to hand over such a large part of their income to watch "the peoples game". It's not just him, it's all of it. Sky, BT, chairmen, players and worst of all, agents.

I think we have to accept that there is big money in football but its a satanic beast now
As you say players , sky , bt , presenters .....that Richard keys made a load out of the game and he was a complete clown and of course agents
Sky Andrew was a right creepy salesman , I think he represented sol Campbell, a right narcissistic overpaid tart
It all stinks
I joined a fishing club in March, several miles of the river ely full of trout , perch , pike , roach , chub , barbel , dace
A lovely 3 or 4 hours out in the countryside
The cost ? 40 quid
For the year
You could go everyday if you wanted to
Spurs pay bale 600 grand a week , millions is washing around the club and a working class spurs fan from a council estate in North East London is asked to pay 70 quid to watch his team , even though most of their income comes from television ?
Its appalling

They’re two different points entirely butt.
Blaming Gareth Bale for Gladys freezing her bollocks off in Dowlais Top last December is a bit unfair. Perhaps the neighbours could’ve popped around to see if she was alright?

Football turned to shit years ago.
The funny thing is if supporters wanted to flex any muscle in changing its values they’d just stop watching it. The truth is the majority either don’t have the bollocks and continue whining about it, don’t give a **** or given up a long time ago.

This Brian Clough you talk about, would it be the same bloke as Brian ‘the Bung’ Clough who had to pay the tax man £600000 when he was caught redistributing money from the evil capitalists who run football whilst during transfer deals?
You’re right about everything else.

Re: Gareth Bale , Obscene Wages
I understand your point of view. But don’t agree with it.
He didn’t set the benchmark for wages.
If he was getting out of paying his fair share of tax then I’d be a bit pissed but his wage is whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
It’s a capitalist market and it works for the majority of people

It's not unfair, it's complete bollocks and I'm surprised to hear it from Sludge. It's directly from the facebook 'FOOTBOLLERZ URN X AMOUNT BUT SOLIDERS EARN X AMOUNT SHARE IF U THINK ITS WRONG" craptrain.
I'm not saying £600k a week is not an obscene amount of money but's not on Gareth Bale, a normal lad from Cardiff who due to his talent has made a huge success of himself, to make sure pensioners have money to pay for heating- the state should be doing that.
-
Re: Gareth Bale , Obscene Wages
I wasn't singling out Gareth per se, but the very fact that this is allowed to happen and is actually encouraged by everyone involved. Football is walking a very fine line between keeping the money flowing and turning people away in these strange times.

Yeah but that’s different.
Gareth Bale earned his money due to his talent and hard work. He was in academies during childhood. He faces the pressures of an A-list footballer, whether it’s on the pitch, training ground or in the media.
My health, despite some of it is earned, is mainly not earned. It’s because I am young and not unwell.
So you’re comparing apples and oranges

Its the system of capitalism that allows this to happen
Bale is a good lad but the fact we have a society where someone is on 600 grand a week and up the valleys a pensioner freezes to death is the problem

missing the point , I am not giving gareth bale stick for not saving a poor club , its the fact we have these inequalities in the first place

well you are completely missing the point
It could be dave fartpants from Chelsea
We have a society where money wins everytime and its ruined football
The point is this , there will always be rich , there will always be poor but we have a situation where there is money circulating in society . A massive amount of it is in the hands of a few people
Redistribution of wealth is as important in football .....or it was before the premier league came along ...as it is in health , social care , housing , transport
The beautiful game is fecked
