I was at that Palace game in 1976 - for the first time I saw us dominate an away game and Adrian Alston scored a late winner. Allison used to wear a fedora, and when he was popular so did the Palace fans. On the way out the ground was littered with trampled fedoras.
In midweek we had 35,000 plus for a match against Hereford who were also challenging at the top. Allison's comments were one of the causes of that turnout, which I believe was a record for that division. We won 2 - 0.

Does anyone have any idea how many tickets we've sold for Saturday at present?

I remember my mate's dad taking us to that game, standing on the corner of the bob bank/canton, absolutely rammed in and the crowd was buzzing. Generally speaking I have the memory of a goldfish, and cant' even remember the score (I think we won) but will never forget how full the ground was that night.

Gareth: Yeah, I know, so when he’s fighting Chuck Norris-
Simon: In what?
Gareth: In Way of the Dragon.

TLG: is it? Why did you say have you seen them play Spurs in 1988? They played Millwall in both, but Spurs was only in 1992.

With enough promotion / marketing etc through the Echo, we could easily get over 20k. (Remember the all conquering Burnley 0-2 in 1988? and before my time, a Hereford one which drew 35k after their Manager's comments?).
With the print media sadly at an all time low however, it all comes down to word of mouth and social media. We can all do our bit there.
Such is the attitude of the area however, I think we all know that if this was a Premier League game, it would already be sold out.
Yeah, some people would you use any excuse not to go. Dont like the nice Mr Tan.... Blah blah blah....

I've noticed the same , there is apathy, rugby , and the move to fund and support the last few years of supporting Welsh football side instead .
The other is the the removal of the five year prices freeze it has lost us a lot of fans , lets put in standing areas, and slash the walk up price to a tenner .
