This looks like a very tight division as always.

Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
Top six (in no particular order):
Fulham, Boro, Derby, Villa, Wolves & a toss up between Cardiff and Sheff Wed
Relegated:
Millwall, Burton, QPR
You can probably argue a case for 14/15 teams to make the top six. It is the strongest Championship I have seen for a long time.

Fulham and Derby will be up among promotion contenders. Barnsley, Millwall, QPR and Burton to struggle. I don't think Boro are going to do as well as the pundits and bookies think. i think Villa will make the play offs. If we get into play offs, I will view it as a successful season.

Most competitive. There aren't a stand out this year, so everyone is pretty decent. Also, I think we'll be OK but struggle to get playoffs with our injuries. We don't have a big enough squad.

Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
The 3 teams who came up last season plus Forest, Wolves, Birmingham, QPR and Ipswich. All should be below us. And Burton.
-
Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
Teams I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up 6th or better
Villa
Brentford
Derby
Fulham
Hull
Middlesborough
Norwich
Sheffield Wednesday
Wolves
Teams I would be a little surprised
Cardiff
Leeds
Sheffield united
Sunderland
Teams I would be very surprised
Barnsley
Birmingham
Bolton
Bristol
Burton
Ipswich
Millwall
Forest
Pne
QPR
Reading

Last season we won more points when Whitts didn't play than when he played. While I'm not suggesting that's down to him, it would appear that having some kind of playmaker in the middle is perhaps not as important as we might think. Lots of energy to get box to box and tackle, giving the ball then to the players that can cause damage might be better than losing one bundle of effort in the middle.

Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
As we're just about at the halfway point of the season, I thought I would give our pre season prediction thread a bump! Regardless of our result at Bolton we will go into the second half of the season in second spot and not one of us predicted such a lofty spot. Long long way to go, but an interesting read with some of the predictions panning out thus far whilst other are more than a little wide of the mark!

Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
I can see Bristol City falling and struggling to remain in the top 6.
Poor team punching well above their weight so far..

Re: What Championship clubs might fail this season?
This is the true nailbiting end to the season.
norwich currently in 12th one point above Ipswich and there's a curly wurly riding on it

Fair play looks to have the top 6 spot on

Pleasantly surprised, but surprised.
A pleasant surprise then:biggrin:
Stats don't help predictions much then, with Norwich not storming to the top either.
All jokes aside it's not an easy league to call.

So on Sunday we have promotion, play offs, relegation AND a battle between the Norfolk footballing giants to see who will finish top half, all for a curly wurly.
