I've mostly been sat in relatively 'timid' areas during my time as a ST holder on the Bob Bank and Ninian Stand, worst I heard was a miserable old prick shout at Dexter Blackstock to 'F**k off back to Africa' when he was playing against us at Ninian Park. I think every single person that heard him reacted immediately, he had a barrage of verbal abuse and several people tried to get at him and a few mins later the old fella was rushed out of the ground by police and stewards for his own safety. I was pretty young at the time and remember thinking it made me feel a bit sick that we have fans like that at our club, but the reaction from everyone else in the block was re-assuring.
Harold Shipman song is the worst I’ve heard us sing.
I heard somebody (dont know who) shout ' run Bartlett you Mars Bar'. Standing up on the Bob Bank. I don't think you would ever hear this now.
The gas a jack was shameful as well. Out of order that.
I'e heard numerous songs Alan Davies, Fans also seemed happy to chant about Terry Coles, a fan who died at a football game. Then you have the Shipman song, and then too many racist, homophobic comments and chants to mention.
I have heard countless times that this is passion, and that going to a football match gives you a release where you can shout, sing and swear as much as you like. It is what football is about. There are things that i have done during my time at Ninian Park which i do not look back with any pride.
I would imagine that the person who directed these comments are now devastated by his actions. Its going to come back and have a great effect on his life, but i cannot hold it up with any level of disbelief.
I remember Terry Coles. Tragic.
