At the Colston Hall, Bristol in the mid 1970's I saw Renaissance who were very good. The, 'support,' act was the excellent Caravan:

I saw them headlining in about 1977. Johnny Kidd was long dead but Mick Green etc were still there. They were a three piece then, bass, guitar and drums.
I see that BBC 1 has McCartney at the Cavern Club on Xmas Day at 23.45.
The great Mick Green was one of his guitarists here.

the Mcr Ritz with its bouncy floor, great venue. seen loads of quality in there. the last was fat white family, seems like a lifetime ago now
