He was the only footballer on the pitch, I seem to remember.

Youri Dyorkaeff playing for Bolton against us in a pre season friendly. Thought he was total class! Okocha played as well, but wasn’t a patch on Dyorkaeff.

Garth crooks took the piss as a kid for Stoke against us in the late 70's .
Barry Bannan still does whenever we play him as well

I remember that game but can find no proof of it, got a funny feeling it was a testimonial/memorial of some sort, would have been around the 2001 mark? Either way you're right, Merson was brilliant that day.
