Its from my era as well and that team is close to mine. Id have Gabbs for Williams which is probably Cardiff bias.

The one player id like to get in would be Alan Curtis. A superbly talented player whose goal against Wrexham is the best Ive seen from a player in a city shirt.

I think that Clayton Blackmore was a solid player at Man Utd and scored some great goals.
Could he be in the mix for a full back slot?

Good shout… I think you can argue he probably played at a higher level for longer and won a lot more accolades than Delaney, I knew there was somebody from that era I wasn’t thinking about.

He’s certainly in the mix for me before a Gunter or Roberts would be.

Yes I think so.
Possibly Joey Jones as well, I don’t remember watching him though.
Also, according to Stanley Matthews…Alf Sherwood was apparently his most difficult opponent.

Many years ago a number of well known managers were asked to name a world team with the person they thought best in each position.
The Italian Manager had John Charles at both Centre forward and centre Half, and when the organisers said he couldn't do it the reply was
"You asked me to name the best player in the world in each position. I have"

There are few if any other players you could honestly say something like that about.
