All this oh you would take it if it was cardiff city nonsense would go out of the window
You will never stop this sort of fraud on the pitch but the football authorities should use their pathetic vr to look at that sort of incident again post match and ban the cheat for 5 games ......just an example .....it could be 6 months for full deterent .....
Klopp would certainly be fuming if it happened to him instead of that stupid grin poncing around and avoiding the fact his team ......and any other team .....is propping up this amateur dramatics to win at all costs
No wonder some rugby fans think football is pathetic and call it Wendyball .....plenty wrong with rugby but on cheating and play acting they are spot on
Football has the ability to reduce the cringeworthy antics being used to win at any costs , I wouldn't want to be paying good money to be watching games which despite dominant performances or stalemate can be decided by how well a dishonest player can con the referee
It's a stinking edifice
Getting worse and creeping down the leagues!

It's tolerable in the Championship
The Premier league brings incredible exposure and riches
But it's sleeping with the devil as far as I am concerned
It could be so much different with fairer distribution of income
But the thatcherite type attitude of those that run it .....we work hard .....by diving.....we keep all the money....mirrored by those who support it .....is nauseating

Re: Football is corrupt and rotten to the core
Leyton Orient are charging Bolton Wanderers fans £29 a ticket for their upcoming game on January 30th, weeks after Bolton charged Orient fans just £10 a ticket for the reverse fixture
seems unfair and unjust to me !

She's been dead years, and you're blaming her for premier league diving :hehe:

I'll watch most football when it's on. The only team I pay to watch is Cardiff City. £10 a game. If you're going to watch football on YouTube maybe you should restrict your viewing to pre-1992 games only. And instead of watching MOTD just buy a bunch of VHS tapes from the '80s.

It certainly is
The obscene gap in equality in football these days means that clubs are desperate to get there and often get into trouble ......like us
Wages , income to pay those wages , sponsorship
Leeds are still charging ridiculous amounts of money to bankroll a promotion and the ordinary fans are a huge part of that income
A few years in the Championship and the lifeline is cut
There really shouldn't be a need for this parachute payments nonsense in the first place but the reason for that and the general mess in football is definitely the Premier league and how it's grabbed all the money

Re: Football is corrupt and rotten to the core
Whilst everyone is voicing their disgust/revulsion/concern we shouldn't lose sight of some aspects of these 'dives'.
All players are so adept at this that it should be assumed that they are coached to go down on any contact, and when they do it and are awarded a penalty they have only done what their coaches have taught them to do.
It's fair to assume that the defender knows this, and would probably do exactly the same thing if he had the opportunity, so if he knows why does he make contact? Why doesn't he make sure he doesn't? Perhaps its just that the person diving on a particular day is more experienced or worldly wise that the person touching him.
But it is not something that is peculiar to the top clubs or even the top leagues, every professional player does it or will attempt to do it give the chance. we only see it so often with the top clubs because they are televised more and we watch them more. It doesn't mean they are more corrupt or 'bent' than any other team.
If they are corrupt nd rotten to the core it means all professional teams are, or would be given players with the necessary skills. And that includes City.

It's individual players with the system and there are far more at the top
I hate diving and don't care who dies it
Bothroyd was a fantastic footballer but his attempts to con the ref were embarrassing
Phil Stant went down like a dying Swan too when given the chance
The Premier league doesn't do anything about it , partly I think because controversy means money but it won't diminish till these players are punished

Re: Football is corrupt and rotten to the core
“I don’t support the Premier League but I watch MotD every week and watch loads of highlights on YouTube” :hehe:
You’d be less hypocritical if you said you watched the full matches via some dodgy Vietnamese live stream. At least that way you wouldn’t be putting pennies into the PL’s coffers, which you are doing now.

You’re still putting money into their pockets by watching MotD or watching the highlights on YouTube.

I ain't paying the Premier league a penny
The BBC through the licence fee give the Premier league money to show match of the day but my licence fee pays for the BBC, not a monthly clout

You add to the BBC viewing figures. More views means more money for the PL as they can negotiate better deals with the BBC and their sponsors.
On YouTube the channels hosting the highlights, be it the individual clubs or the PL itself, gain revenue from ads, views and engagement. Even negative engagement such as a dislike or angry “he dived, never a pen! Modern football is corrupt!” comments generate income. The more engagement on a video, the more people it gets recommended too and the higher up it appears in searches.

Well that's stretching it beyond the realms
If I am in the doctors surgery waiting room and there is a copy of The Sun on the table I read a few pages of the right wing nonsense but I ain't paying for the crap
Comprendre?
It isn't my fault that the Premier league has everyone by the bollocks but its perfectly possible to criticise the rotten tossers without taking out a 50 quid a month to watch the clown show

The Sun lying on the table has already been paid for. The company gets the same amount of money if 1 person reads it or 100.
You add to the Premier League’s revenue. Probably quite a lot since you’re such a loyal customer :hehe:

Sky subscribers could offer the same argument. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it called Sky Sports? Or is there a Sky Premier League only package?

You watch their product legitimately. You may not pay anything for it but they still make money from it.

They don’t take your personal money, but that absolutely do get money from you. Probably quite a bit since you’re such an avid follower of the Premier League :hehe:

Re: Football is corrupt and rotten to the core
Anyway, can we stop talking about this now? Sludge, you have made it abundantly clear that you (think) you're not a fan of the PL and you think it has ruined football. I think we can all agree that the formation of the PL has brought far too much money and commercialism into the game, but the same could be said of practically every other business. Foreign money, greed, politics and corruption are rife. No one would argue with you on that front. It's a shame, but that's life. If it really bothers you as much as you say it does, I suggest you make every effort to ignore it.
