We tried our best to chuck it away, but what a win!

Brilliant, well done ladies. Fantastic for girls and women’s sport in Wales.

First ever major tournament. Great stuff

Edge of the seat stuff but a great win.

Re: Surprised there wasn't a topic about the Wales V ROI game
It was like the Alamo at the end. And went to the corner flags too early. But Ireland barely laid a glove for 35 minutes in the 2nd half. Cracking stuff.

If only the football was as entertaining as that down the City.

What a finish. Those long throws were terrifying. Looking forward to watching a tournament in the summer :)

Interesting how much distance down the line she 'stole'. It was well over 10 yards for most of the last few.

Exactly what I thought, but like the old days in league 1/2, blood and thunder, but women not blokes. First female game I ever watched, couple of fitties in there for sludge ? Or is that a bit too Greg Wallace?:xmashehe:

I've seen my team using the long throw in tactic more than enough through my life, but, when it's as effective as that one was, you wonder why Ireland didn't make more use of it until they were on the brink of losing.

Looks like it wasn't all sweetness and light between the two dug outs.

If the Irish coach didn't try to shake hands it is pretty petty,on such a big occasion
If she did and it wasn't accepted a different story obviously.

Who thought, when it went to VAR in the 91st minute, that they would give the ball over the line ?
I thought they would give the goal

Reminds me of the physicality Ireland had in the 2018 mens playoff in Cardiff . They deliberately took out Allen and were an absolutely horrible team to play against. Going to toe to toe with them was a good move last night.

It’s my observation of every women’s game. I’m not sure why but the development of goalkeepers seems to be years behind outfield players. Maybe recruit a few 6 foot plus netball players.

Ceryn Chamberlain has become very mobile in recent years - and has made some top saves in recent matches.
She jumps and she dives!

Genuine question how many full games do you watch?
I ask as a lot of people see the odd clip of a goal in women's football and use that to make some pretty big statements. Plenty of examples of very good saves out there also.

That observation may have been true 15 years ago.
