The Daily Doge 19/02/2025
As of February 19, 2025, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has intensified efforts to uncover and address alleged government fraud. Recent developments include:
Resignations of Veteran Officials: Several seasoned U.S. civil servants, such as Michelle King and David Lebryk, have resigned in protest against DOGE's demands for access to sensitive records, particularly personal financial data held by the IRS. These officials expressed concerns over potential breaches of privacy and security.
LATEST NEWS & BREAKING HEADLINES
Access to IRS Data: DOGE has granted Gavin Kliger, a 25-year-old software engineer, access to the IRS's sensitive tax database. This move aims to identify and combat fraudulent activities, especially those involving foreign nationals, which reportedly cost taxpayers billions annually.

Investigations into Treasury Payment Systems: Government watchdogs are probing Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's decision to allow DOGE access to federal payment systems. The audits seek to evaluate the adequacy of controls over these systems and investigate claims of fraudulent payments authorized by Treasury personnel.

Criticism of DOGE's Efficacy: Analysts have questioned DOGE's approach, suggesting that its focus on dismantling agencies and offering federal worker buyouts yields minimal savings. Critics argue that targeting military and entitlement spending or adjusting taxes would be more effective strategies for deficit reduction.
THE ATLANTIC
These actions have sparked significant debate regarding privacy, the balance of power, and the overall effectiveness of DOGE's initiatives in combating government fraud.
Except it’s not fraud though is it? It's just governmental spending on things they don’t agree on. That’s not fraud.
Right now it’s having a very detrimental effect on me as my work involves dealing with many different agencies here.
It’s going to be tough for my company for a while.
Also it may have a detrimental effect on my house price here as many, many workers here are Federal employees or contractors.
Obviously that’s good for people struggling to buy in this area, but selfishly I’d naturally like as much equity in my house as possible.
My friend was offered a job at the Treasury Department in January and the offer has recently been rescinded so she is pissed off at Trump and she voted and cheerled for him.
On the flip side…if there is massive waste and some nefarious activities, I would certainly like to know about it.
The USAID scandal alone exposes a lot and I think that this could be the tip of the iceberg.
There again it might not.
Things seem to be transparent so far and if it is good for the people of this country, who am I to object?
I do know that anything positive that Trump and now Elon Musk, RFK Jr etc…does will be looked at negatively just because people cannot stand them.
Sadly I don’t trust the media anymore than I trust X feed echo chambers.
It’s just a case of wait and see what happens and TRY to keep an open yet cynical mind for me.
Hey wash dc blue any truth that Trump /DOGE team going to hand every single American a DOGE dividend of up to 20 per cent or 5,000 dollars of the 50 billion dollars recovered so far
