Slightly off topic but what was this like before?
Obviously we are all used to living in an era of a broad terrorist threat but I'd say the threat was greater in the 70s and 80s with the IRA?
I have vague memories of being checked going to the odd big game in the early/mid 90s but what was it like before that? I've always felt that sports crowds seem very vulnerable.
