In any case who are the board? Dalman who seems to be out of the picture after the Bulut debacle. Choo who is Tan’s representative in the UK who is probably not allowed an opinion of his own and would never contradict the owner. Two mysterious Malaysians who have probably never been to a game and are unlikely to go against the owner either leaving local boy Steve Borley in splendid isolation.
No, for me it is all down to one person who will lose considerable face if we go down.

I have no conclusive proof of this but I'm pretty sure that if we changed our manager before the next game our results until the end of the season wouldn't be any worse. Just the change in itself might just mean we win a game somewhere instead of a draw..

I don’t now.
We have drawn too many games and seem bang out of form (lol!) when teams around us are picking up points, something that we have relied on teams NOT doing, and got away with, in the last few years.
Depressing.

Not a chance in hell we stay up.
The part time board’s arrogance and meddling has finally caught up with them. Can only hope they finally leave after 10 years

That is true.
But it won’t happen. The owners seem content to watch him fail.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
I don't now.
The players are not playing for the club or the manager.
A prime example was that we had throwins and freekicks in their half in injury time and they had no urgency.
The club can't afford to settle for a draw at this stage.
I noticed that the forwards were being selfish as well.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
It's not looking good, is it? I just don't see where the points will come from. A few weeks ago, it was just a case of carrying on doing better than the teams below us, but it seems like everyone except us has stepped up.
-
Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
Possibly not. But, to be honest, I'd be glad to see the back of this season and significant changes made that gives me hope this club can progress once again.

With this lot in charge. I have very little hope of progress of any kind.

There won't be. Tan has to go for us to be a success, that's been clear for some time

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
As each game goes by, with seemingly few opportunities created from open play, then when we see two golden headed opportunities, like in today’s game, woefully missed. Then, add into the mix, we are finding it difficult to deliver any quality set piece delivery, either by corners or free kicks… I am getting more than a little bit concerned as each game ticks by.
However, I feel that we will (possibly) avoid relegation, and consequently I would love to see our club “celebrate avoiding relegation in our historic 125th year”, by organising an open-top bus trip, from the stadium to the equally historic Cardiff castle.
I should remind everyone to make sure to bring your own rotten tomatoes along with you, so we can appropriately contribute.

Our goal difference won't help.

No.
Down the moment they appointed Riza.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
Up until today's set of results I have been in the we have enough to stay up camp.
I still think we have a decent bunch but the manager is such a tinker man that the players just cannot get any momentum.
I have never been a fan of getting rid of managers when things get tough but this guy seems to have lost the plot, and the players know it.
A new face with new ideas, someone who has experienced this situation before, who can instill some belief in the players I feel us our only hope of avoiding the dreaded drop.

This happens when you're at the wrong end of the table, though. I've posted this a few times already, but I've read lots saying we need to give a centreback pairing lots of games together and stop changing them. What do you do when one or both makes the mistakes they have been? Keep playing them? Riza would get it from the fans if he didn't drop players who weren't performing. He also gets it in the neck when he makes lots of changes.
There's probably a centre ground somewhere here, but I reckon it's very thin indeed.
Take today's front 4. I don't think many of us were against that at the start of the game, but they were poor. What happens next time? Pick the same 4 or make changes? This is the dilemma when results and performances aren't good enough.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
Yes, as a supporter that’s my attitude, championship always expect the unexpected.
People always question the players effort to stay up but most our fans have thrown the towel in. It’s not looking great but let see, some decent games coming up, twists and turns to happen.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
I hope we are not done, but its looking more and more like we are
BUT and its a big But for me
Im not sure I care, we have struggled in this league for a few years now, saved by other teams points deductions, ive had enough of it, I glance at Reading at the mo, still with the threat of being kicked out the league, today they edged into the play-off's and they havent got that good a team
so if we go down to L1 and win a few games, it just might not be that bad, ive asked it in the past, does it really matter what league we are in ? if we put together a few wins and challenge for whatever place, its got to be more fun then this

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
We’ll have a lot better chance of staying up if the fans in the ground get behind and stay behind the team.

Re: 6 games to go. Does anyone think we actually will stay up?
Drama queens the lot of you.
We are in the relegation zone by goal difference with 6 games to go.
Anything could happen. By this time next week we could be 6 points clear again. Yes lots of teams around us have had an uptick in form, but it’s just as likely one or two of them go on a bad run again. They are down here with us for a reason.
Do I think we will stay up?… I’m starting to resign myself to the fact we won’t, but when it’s still so close there’s still plenty of hope we will.
Keep the faith lads, this is football, it’s never predictable. If it was we’d all be putting the bookies out of business wouldn’t we.

Aiming this at the people saying we are destined to go down now.

Three teams go down every season. So obviously it doesn’t invariably work.
It’s never as simple as just changing the manager. But the problem we have here is that the guy who is currently labelled as our manager should never have been anywhere near the job in the first place.

I said on another thread that I thought we would get a draw yesterday and a win on Tuesday
Derby are home to Burnley, and I think that’s more likely to be an away win, we have to win, simple as that.
If there’s any chance for us to stay up, we need at least two more wins and 3 draws
On paper, you wouldn’t expect us to get anything from Bramall lane on Good Friday, but who knows?
It’s looking more likely that the draws where we have lost a lead, will come back and bite us on the arse
What ever happens, it’s been a miserable season, yet again

You should get a place in midfield with all that ground have covered there!
We all know anything can happen. Plymouth may yet come mid table. Nobody said its impossible we will stay up.
You even say yourself you have resigned yourself to the fact we are going down which is basically what everyone else has said.
At least whatever happens you can claim you were right though.
