It’s very often, quite sarcastically, that the majority of us on here are old farts with outdated views and should be put out to grass. This thread disputes that……….nobody has mentioned ‘58!!!!

I saw Wales v England at Ninian Park, just before the 82 World Cup and that fella was on the pitch then. I remember he came over to the Bob Bank during the game waving a Wales flag and he got dogs abuse. I felt quite sorry for him at the time, but a few years later some allegations came out about him. 1958 Brazil v Wales 1-0 defeat in Q/F, John Charles kicked out of the tournament by the Magyars Pele.
Brazil went further in the 86 tournament than 82. They lost on pens in a great game to France. That French side were good mind with Platini and Tigana running teams ragged. They probably should've won a World Cup in 82 if it wasn't for Schumacher decapitating Batiston.Quote:
